But it's a GSXR. Second only to the R1 in straightline speed and the inability to corner...

As a firm believer in "time and place" when it comes to speeding... That article said nothing about time and next to nothing about place.
Did you have access to more details re: time and place or are you just going off that article?

plenty of places up that way where one might have been able to do 200 relatively easy in an 80 zone... not that i would know anything about that :P

A motorcyclist had his licence suspended after police allege he was travelling in excess of 120kph over the speed limit near Maitland yesterday.

About 5.10pm officers attached to the Newcastle Highway Patrol were conducting speed checks along Flat Road Bolwarra Heights.

Police noticed a Suzuki GSX 1000 travelling in an easterly direction travelling well above the sign posted speed limit of 80kph. The rider was checked travelling at 200kph.

Police stopped the 29-year-old East Maitland man and he was issued with a Court Attendance Notice for exceed speed over 45kph and also drive at speed dangerous. Police also issued the man with a suspension notice for his licence.

poor bastard has been busted on a lonely road out of town from the looks of it , when he realised they were coming he should and have turned around gave the hwy patrol a friendly wave and fucked off off out there asap , not sure he would have got away on a gixxer thou , much better chance on a 10r

For anyone calling this guy a goose...go fuck yourselves! Get real people. I am just so sick of so called motorcyclists shitbagging other motorcyclists without any facts to back it up. How this guy is a goose is beyond me. 200 on a litre bike is just clicking 3rd FFS! It appears that the next generation of riders are far removed from the previous, who would have seen this and questioned the reasons why he didn't have a crack! Go wrap yourselves up in cotton wool and get off those dangerous motorbikes before someone gets hurt!
