Hot Chocolate

Post by ducati_paul »

I was in Oberon on Saturday and it was bloody cold, bloody windy and a steady drizzle was coming down :( anyway, I had a bit of a ride ahead of me (heading for Tuena) so I thought I better top up with with fuel, having done that I went in to pay and noticed they had cans of hot drinks for sale, I had seen them a couple of weeks earlier at the Northern Beaches Expo but didn't get one, with it being so cold I figured now was the time! They had the choice of Hot Chocolate, Mocha or Coffee, I took a Hot Chocolate which was $5 (I presume they all were) as it turns out I didn't use it over the weekend but just pulled it out of my bag as I was unpacking so thought I'd give it a go.
You peel the label off the bottom then give the centre of the can a good firm press and things start happening  you gently shake the can for 20 seconds then stand it upright for 3 minutes (at the start a bit of steam comes out the bottom which is pretty cool 8) ) then all you do is take off the plastic protector on the top and open the can .... A handy tip is not to stand beside the ironing board with your girlfriends white polar fleece top on it as it sprays a bit when you open it
anyway the end result was a delicious hot chocolate drink and a polarfleece top that I have now learned to handwash
I might have to find a place locally to get them and stick a couple in the cupboard, the great thing is you can have a Hot Chocolate ANYWHERE! :kuda:

Workmate bought one the other day, saw one at the servo when i filled up my car this morning, but didn't buy it. It's certainly an interesting concept.

So how's that handwashing skill going? you up to speed to work in a vietnamese laundry yet?

I'm going to take a guess that the activator at the bottom is a (likely synthetic) epoxy resin plug with a super active pellet of hardener in there as that stuff can make a heap of heat when activated, and if its a extremely volatile reaction then it'll certainly get the thermal runaway needed to heat up a drink like that.
