I had the Gazis on coming back from Gingers Creek and the roads around Dungog are about as crap as they get. They handled it brilliantly. I like bumpy snotty roads and they were sensational.

Nah, Singleton,East Gresford,Dungog,Stroud Rd Glouster isnt rough, The Putty Rd north of Colo Heights is ROUGH, now thats the place to test shocks!!!

I will be interested to see what you think of them on rough roads over there, Strika is of opinion they are much better, but he is in Vicco and Vicco roads are like SMOOTH, I am in NSW...our roads resemble 1970s MX tracks!

(Can't be any worse than Qld roads).

Just took it around the neighbourhood. So far so good. Have to dial them in a bit.

I left the pre-load as it was delivered, rebound at 10 clicks, and compression at 5 clicks (ie the recommended base settings). I will take it from there. I weigh only 100 kg.

That's what I said also Glen. Despite A.E.'s opinion, Vicroads doesn't spend much money on my favourite roads. South Gippsland in particular is as bumpy as thunderbolts, buckets & Colo end of the puty rolled into one with the added bonus of fresh vow Shit from the dairys and random gravel on corners. The Gazi's work brilliantly, they are well controlled with a firm but progressive spring. They never bottom or wallow, regardless of how spirited I have been of late.

Yup, i am convinced on the Gazi's that's for sure, good performance, half the price of Ohlins (almost) and an Aussie company, doesnt get much better!

"Regarding the ride height adjustment, we have changed the design of the
bottom of the shock slightly and the Fitting Guide relates to the older
models.
New specs will be on the new Fitting Guides.
We usually recommend about 5mm of adjustment (8mm screwed in) with the eyes.
If you need any longer we usually supply longer eyes.
For guys that do track days, they usually swap the eyes for longer ones when
required."

mmm...interesting, as when I ordered mine, he said it was the longer bottom eye supplied?? I might send him an email. Mind you, they are a lot longer than the stock ones anyway. I might be a little reluctant to go anything longer as it may start altering the swingarm angle a little too much which can cause problems in itself. mmmmmmm Food for thought...!



Hey A.E. that's a mighty tempting offer!!! Worth coming up just for that!!!! But, my role changed about 16 months ago. I am completely Melbourne based now, as I took on a role within a large business down here. A good gig at group GM level. But, when I get some leave, I am planning on doing some riding up the east coast. catching up with everyone who I havn't seen for a while since I stopped all the travelling. So when I do that, I will make sure I plan a weekend where we can catch up, go for a ride and then have a feed and a few pigs ears somewhere. I am looking forward to riding the Z. I have not ridden one with well over 20 years!!!!! And riding yours, I know is going to be one of those experiences!!!!

A.E. what about getting down here for the annual KSRC Moto GP tour! It's a cracker covering some roads you will definately know and love!!!

After reading this thread and comparing a few different shocks I decided to go with the Gazi shocks for my old z1000 project.

They arrived the other day and I have to say they look pretty damm tidy on the outside. Just a shame it will take me a little while yet to get to road test the old girl. Hope the inside bits are as good.

Service was great and Paul threw in a standard clevis along with the longer one so I can fiddle with ride heights. great service and quick delivery. Gotta be happy with that
