Re: What to name the new puppy?
I have always wanted to call my dogs either "Fang" or "Dog" ala Footrot Flats.

If he went that route then I'd say he'd have to call it Jesspittster wrote:I have always wanted to call my dogs either "Fang" or "Dog" ala Footrot Flats.

Hey Mick, not sure my daughter Jessica would be all that happy about that one!!!

Re: Forget it...Her name is Zsa Zsa (Ja Ja)
Not being one to procrastinate, I called the shelter this morning to have a chat with the girl about Greta's name. It's the name they gave her when she arrived, as they didn't know her name. WHen I asked if she might be confused if I called her something else and if that would add to her discomfort when moving her into my home, she suggested it really didn't matter and she would get used to whatever I decided to call her anyway.
So I asked that if I changed her name now, would they start calling her by that name for the next week while she is still there having her final checks, desexing op and so forth. She was more than happy to do so. I then asked her if she thought Zsa Zsa suited her and she reacted very excitedly saying that she thought that it would be perfect for her!! So, Zsa Zsa it is!!! I just hope she isn't as precious as Zsa Zsa Gabor was!!!!!

Oh god I hope not..............hopefully she wags her tail at them, bats those pretty little eyelids and makes their hearts melt & in the process, forgiving me for doing 200kph over the speed limit...seiko1 wrote:Zsa Zsa ????

I am going up to see her tomorrow, just to help her familiarize herself with me so the change of environment isn't as much of a shock.
She has been through a tough first part of her life, yet shows no signs of it causing any issues. She appears to be a self confident, secure little girl. If you didn't know her background, you might be fooled into thinking she has had a loving home all her life. So resilience is obviously one of her traits.
Being outside all her life, I will have to house train her too. Ozkar will still be here for the next 5 or 6 weeks, so hopefully, that will give her an idea of how it works. But I will probably use the same method I did with Ozkar. That took all of four hours.
She has her operation Thursday, then I can pick her up Friday. So I might take some time off Friday afternoon to go get her, as I am busting to get started with the bonding & training.
She will think she has struck gold. A full-time Vizsla playmate close in age a big grassy backyard, full access to a centrally heated house, puppy park almost every night, two walks minimum per day and to top that all off, she will get to sleep inside of a night.....friggin resort for dogs she will think

It's kind of the opposite though, as she is going from the country to the city!kaneg wrote:With that name, it's certain she will be a good house-keeper
