ZX9R 2001 model 1/4 mile.

Post by ZX9erguy »

Well its been awhile but my ninja is down to a 9.6 at 149mph.... Just put it in the shop for a sprocket change and few other bits.. Hoping to loose that other half a second... predicted top end will be 290 but it should get there a lot quicker.. Anyone had a nine run times close to this??

Full system, carbs have been rejetted, cams, N/A tune, intake has been increased by a almost half a litre.. i am running out of bolt ons. my mech is talking turbo but i wanna avoid major work. i have a 2010 CBR1000rr and it has nothing on my ninja.. turns better but i am hoping once the suspension is redone which is being done now it will rail a bit better. he did an awesome job on my Daytona 675. i get the 9 back on monday. i reckon there will be a honda and triuph for sale in the trading post... lol

It's a 9, why are you so surprised??? ;)

My 9 was a 2000 E model and totally stock. But I could get it to do much lower times than that. I had it down to a 7.8 @ 292kph through turn three at the Island and a 8.7 @ 260kph through turn 1 on the same day. I had good tyres on but!

I am down to 78kilo now from 96. thats why the suspension is being redone. i am hoping to hit eastern creek in a few weeks. a couple or rides up gingers first. last time i did eastern creek i was doing 1min 38. hoping with the sporcket change this time i should be quicker. the triumph i had down to 1min 40 and the cbr 1 min 39. the only difference in the track was a top speed of 266 on the 675 and 290 with the litre bikes. and turn 2 the 675 was a lot easier to push through. stinging for a ride on my favourite bike. all i got left is brakes.. maybe Brembo. havent even looked into that yet.

with this coming bill so far its around $5100. i bought it in 2003. she has done almost 50000 now. dont really matter thou cause i have rebuilt the motor 3 times now. when the mech opened it up on tuesday he reckoned it looked like new. lol i was originally going to put an extended swing arm and turbo it when i bought it but i liked riding on the road to much. i am looking for dropped a 12r to do up now. i saw one at a rally in 09. fried the back tire for 3/4 of the strip..

The beast is back and after a small ride yesterday I am impressed. Rode with a 2010 CBR1000rr and to his disgust he couldn't get near me. Before when the power curve started the front got light. Now it lifts the front all the way to 4th. Must keep reminding myself not to grab the throttle to early after a couple of in predicted power slides. I don't think an 8 will happen but it is one hell of a great ride up gingers!!! Also abandoned the michelin's and gone dunlops. Great tire when hot. Still think the rear needs adjustment. Will post pics of the tire and the strange wear I got. All in all very happy with the result. Always good seeing the single headlight of the cbr disappear!!!
