A couple of upcoming mods...

Post by StuMiller »

I'm looking to improve my new 2007 ZX6 with braided brake lines and a nice little fender eliminator.

Can you make any recommendations as to where I am best to get these from?

Also, when installing the brake lines, how hard are they to install and really, are they worth the effort?

Appreciate all views!

Cheers.

If you are racing, then I would highly recommend Braided lines. For the street, rubber lines are way better. The amount of guys and girls I have seen who panic lock up the brakes with braided lines on the road and go down is astonishing!! Race track = Braided lines, road=rubber lines!! IMHO.

But, all the wanker will come in here telling me how wrong I am. But FFS, if you think you need braided lines on the road on a modern bike, then you really are dillusional!!!!

Braided lines are a piece of piss to install..

Step 1: Ride to Wattie's
Step 2: Drink beer while he does it for you

Agree with Strika particularly on the zx6's... The calipers are plenty strong and the rubber lines are fine. My trackbike has braided lines and they are great but I wouldnt want that much bite on the road bike :D

It's an 07 ZX6 with the Nissin Calipers?

If so like Firey said the brakes are awesome. We've got the standard lines on Chriss's tracky and they've never done anything other then stop perfectly.

On the road I reckon braided lines are a bit of a waste unless you want the look.
It's really all about standing around drinking Dave's beer.

If your buying them it would only be for bling on those Nissin calipers. They work great standard.

However if you want them, then sure get them and I will give you Wattie's address. They are easy to install but hey, why would you pass up on getting it done for you whilst you drink Watties beer??????????

(When I installed Disco's he didnt drink any beer , instead brought some around for me to drink ;) 8) )

Yes, they are Nissin calipers. If I really don't need to add extra bite given it will be ridden on the road the majority of the time, I'll save the money and do something else with it....
