Cheap tyres

Hey guys
Just picked up a new set of bridgestone 003's (R) $400 fitted . 190 rear / 120 front from the good guys at whites tyres .

The previous ones lasted me longer than i thought about 4500km and the grip is sticky as

I may try the 001 shinko's for next time as they are even cheaper and apparently are ok .

And how the fark did you get 4500 km's out of your 003s .... if your 10 running on 2 cylinders?

that also included a 1 track day at EC. Unfortunately i'm a slow rider , the upside is i get good tyre milage , lol

That's not slow mate, it's gentle application of the throttle. I've seen heaps of slow riders destroy tyres 'cause they get the bike upright and nail it.

With the dollar the way it is you could get 2 sets of 003's landed from the US for just over $500. We pay our guy $10 a tyre to fit them so they work out under $300 a set fitted, but 400 is ok for Aussie prices. Just check the date of manufacture with tyres you get cheap from Whites. I have picked up cheap tyres off him before that turned out to be a bit too old to be any good.

just checked, the rear is 2008 and front is 2011. $300 a set ,that's a bargain. I might re title this thread to cheap old tyres ,lol

I'd say he simply presents what he has on hand in the best possible light ... end of the day you generally get what you pay for.

bridgestone warranty their tyres for 5 years from the date on the tyre. Provided i wear out the rear before april 2013 it should be ok
probably give the stinko's a miss.

Wow....that is a fair bit of mileage out of a 10........i have got 7500 on my stock so far.....and that was with a 2500km thrashing through the twisties of tassie
