My New Baby !!

Post by Maccarocks »

Hi all,

Well here are the first pics of my new baby..!!

Took it for it's first ride today.. Feels great, did a few adjustments, levers, foot controls, throttle cables but all in all it felt really nice.. Cant wait to get rid of the stock pipe, the Vance & Hines CS-1 will be going on very soon.. but here are some pics of it so far...

Not planning to do much with this as it is my street bike, I will save the mods for the track bike, but I have fitted some new levers, rear seat cowl, Evotech exhaust hanger and fender eliminator.. after the Vance & Hines that will be it for this one !!

What an awesome machine...!!

Macca :D

I have seen and sat on one, even attempted to ride one. They are TINY!!! Miniscule!!!! 600 like isn't the word, it's smaller than my 2005 636 was. Pity about all the electronic shit on them though. Still won't stop dickheads crashing them. .................

Thanks for the great comments..

Yes I agree it looks very familiar, but I love the black..!! And most of you know how I like to present a bike, so it was bound to look similar to my 08 ZX10... sort of..!!

As far as the size goes, I am not feeling that tinyness that some people have mentioned.. Sitting side by side in my shed with my 08 on identical 'sharp' stands it looks exactly the same length.. it is definitely wider in the front end / shoulder area and the mirrors are wider.. but the wheelbase is very similar, in fact the swingarm is longer than the 08. It is definitely lower in the seat height (18mm) which is a good thing, and when checking the height of the footpegs on the highest setting against my track bile (08 ZX10 with race rearsets) surprisingly they are almost identical in footpeg height..

The ducktail section is smaller and a bit shorter, so that might give the impression that it is shorter, but it is not. I am 182cm's tall and weigh 75kg at the mo, and it feels just right for me.. I set the suspension settings to standard as per the book for the street, and it is no where near as harsh in the front end . overall suspension as the 08 model was.. so that is a good thing, plus there is so much adjustment available. I guess my weight is in the middle of the adjustment range..

Just wheeling the bike around it feels lighter than the 08, I know it is only just lighter, but it must be where the weight is carried that makes this bike feel much lighter. When on the road it does feel lighter and very responsive, but I am still getting used to it. PLaying with the power settings yesterday made a big difference..! You can definitely feel when you switch to 60% power, then it feels like a 600, still very quick, but when you switch from Low to Full power mode, then you can defintiely feel the rush.. even when only revving out to 6 - 7000rpm...

Anyway, I am sure to post more pics and more updates as I learn with this bike..!!
