Re: Family Ambulance cover
Have ensured family cover ever since we started racing BMX, never let it run out. Thankfully have never needed it.

Maybe it makes a difference if you can talk to them, not sure. I went to Royal Melbourne as well, courtesy of the big whirlybird. All I remember about it is lying on the warm grass and them bashing my arm into the side of the helicopter trying to get me in.Smitty wrote:they do...???matt6 wrote:This might be stating the obvious, but in Victoria at least the Ambo cover does not apply for accidents on the road. The Ambos will send you a bill that will need to get sent to the TAC.
when i got tipped off a few years ago and carted off to Royal melbourne...I just told the Ambos, when we got to hospital, I was a paid up subscriber
never heard anymore about it (guess the TAC and the Ambulance service talked)
I think i got the bill when i got to rehab a fair while later, it was basically saying even though you have the membership, it doesnt cover accidents on public roads. It wasnt that hard to sort out, just another thing you dont need when youre trying to set world records for pain killer consumption.

I just did the Superman routine over the forks, did a barrel roll and double pike and was up on 2 legs
with my wits around me (guess that helped) ...although gloves and helmet were pharked big time
the broken elbow didnt show up until 2 weeks later

Re: Family Ambulance cover
TAC will pay for any ambo ride from the scene of your accident to a hospital... and anything after $500 dollars out of your own pocket due to injuries relating to it..
Tip, if you come off in vic, take the ambo... and don't go home. If you stay over the night.. You're instantly covered for everything (no out of pocket costs). As I was told after I left the hospital (always the way) when they wanted to keep me in for the night..
