Does your contents insurance cover bikes?

Shannons covers you for theft or damage to an unregistered bike but the cover ceases as soon as you sit on it and start the engine. So it's covered if

It gets stolen from my garage, trailer, Pits at track
It gets burnt as above
It falls off the trailer ie even if you drop it while loading/unloading
You drop it pushing it around etc.

If only I could prove that dropping it while unloading would cause a valve to dislodge and go through a piston (13,000 times)

Apparently they're also up to speed with the "it fell off the trailer on the freeway and slid into a gravel patch on the side of the road ploy"

Pretty good cover for $130 I reckon
It's really all about standing around drinking Dave's beer.

Will they do this for anyone or do you have to have a road bike with them aswell?.....Somebody told me you have to have another policy :?
