Re: NSW margin for error on speeding reduced to zero
Dont worry Duane my brothers a copper down south and i have a few mates up here that do the same work and totaly agree they do have a dirty /ugly job ,i wouldnt wish it upon anyone. But i still think a person that has been doing a certain job for years in most cases should be classed as well trained in his /her field,The way i look at it if i needed help changing gears in a truck or learning how to corner on a motor cycle i would go ask a old truckie or someone like Gos whos had the experiance ,not some well trained officer thats obtain half his experiance from some do gooder earning $150,000 a year sitting in a office.P.S agree there are some officers from the old school that know what they are doing but are not allowed to put it to use anymore

Just because you've done something over and over again doesn't mean your doing it right. It could actually reinforce bad technique. Just because you've been doing something for a long time doesn't make you a proffesional. Just look at those "experianced" car drivers. If you put them through to sit a licence test quite a large majority would probably fail, or at least do very poorly.h.b.bear wrote:But i still think a person that has been doing a certain job for years in most cases should be classed as well trained in his /her field,

Speeding never killed anyone, apparently the sudden stop is a real bitch though!

Exactly. If you want to do 10km/h under the limit, that's fine. If you want to do that on a narrow country road with no opportunities for traffic behind you to overtake, that's fine too. But please don't accelerate to 20km/h over the limit as soon as an overtaking lane comes up, then decelerate as soon as it's finished!smithy5 wrote: I can almost tollerate people going under the limit, but why in the hell do they speed up when there is an opportunity for me to pass them![]()

Sanity?
If you have no fear, you're not going fast enough.
