Bucketts Way road condition

Post by ijuschill »

Does anybody know what Bucketts Way road condition is like at the moment (between Gloucester and Taree) I'm going to Port Mac but don't feel like slabbing it all the way on the Pac Hwy.

It's probably shit - Buckets used to be one of the worst roads in the state but I reckon it's still better than going up the Hwy. Have a good ride!

If you're riding to port why not follow our oxley route, head all the way up inland and do the oxley on the way out to port. Gingers creek where we stay is directly inland from port if I remember correctly?

As someone else hinted at, buckets has been a potholed, patch quilt for 20 years. They are nearly always working on one section or another. Usually by the time they finish that section, the section they did last time is due for works again. But, it's far better than slabbing it. Oh, and remember it can get cold up on that plateau even this time of year, so take something warm.

I'd be going the Wootton Way rather than Thunderbolts.

Wootten Way is a nice bit of road, but there is some fair amount of slabbing either side of it. Having said that, I have sometimes gone that way just to do a few laps of it. 8) 8)
