Tyres at Ducati Penrith..

Post by Gav »

Ducati Penrith supplied fitted and balanced a set of Pilot Pures for me on saturday for $495.00.
I thought that was a pretty good deal. Might be worth a look.. ;)

Did you ride in or take the rims? Either way for a bike shop to fit fairly new tyres I think $495 was ok, but if that was ride in ride out then it's really pretty good.

I shopped around too..Kelens was $550 for example.
They looked after Joel a few months ago..went way out of there way to help us.
I don't know much about tyres or bikes for that matter, but he helped me out heaps.
I'll go back..

Ok I meant to say (after providing prices i paid recently as an example on Metzler sets) have a look around well before you need them, I have heard of great deals on most brands if you take the time. A few sponsors here do tyres so check them out.

I have no idea about tyres and since faster people than me recommend Pures who am I to question, I might have to buy a set to see what they are about :kuda:

Sorry Gav, didn't mean to rain in on the parade.

If you want to get tyres from the US, try Rockymountain. They ship to Australia within a week, they do a lot of bike accessories as well and everyone I know who has dealt with them has only said good things. There are other US suppliers who are cheaper still but don't send to Australia.

I had up until now always bought local, but when you consider the tyres are manufactured in Thailand, shipped to the US and then airfreighted to Aus at a 30% discount, buying local doesn't stack up.

Note - if you buy 2 sets the airfreight is about $80, if you buy 3 sets it goes up to $300.
