Don't change the Kuda. At the extreme, if they don't like it they don't have be here or they don't have to use it. It's a bit of fun and I think the majority of us are adults here.

Kuda is pure KSRC.
Need a stand to political correctness.
Consider it a screening process.
Kuda should stay.

Re: Has the Kuda had its time..
I see two sides to this argument. As a male, I find it ok. However, if it were to genuinely offend a female, then is it really that precious to us? If nobody finds it offensive, then carry on, but if there are some who really are offended by it, what's the cost/benefits analysis to the club?

Re: Has the Kuda had its time..
Considering non members seem not to have a clue to its true meaning, in fact you will probably find half the adults around would not know..... I cant see the harm. My kids see the stickers etc & think its cute, kwakawidow laughed her head off when she first saw it, to the members it is a representative symbol that is pretty universal in its meaning, it is neither a rude jesture or a club mascot it can be taken however you like.
If there were cause to remove then I would vote to change the hand as Mike had suggested to two fingers.....then it could be used in every timmyrocks post.

I'm with Rob and Mike - I think it's ok but if it does offend people then I'd swap it from three fingers to two (or one for a bit more irreverence).
Duane, can you start another poll to gauge if people prefer a three, two or one fingered kuda please

Re: Has the Kuda had its time..
I was on a ride with Gos once.
An older lady at the pub we were staying at asked what the hand signal meant.
"it means kawasaki" he said.
It's like the old hey charger signal.
Who really thinks of it as it's other meaning now anyway. It's just like a wave now.

Keep it, it is an innocent representative symbol of KSRC, if people chose to be misinformed or make assumptions about its meaning then poor form on them.

I think it no longer has the same connotation as its "similar" looking "dirty" cousin the shocker..

Re: Has the Kuda had its time..
Whilst I may have had some involvement with it's original introduction
I believe Owen's adaptation to this
turned it from it's original meaning to a symbol of friendship and fun and uniquely KSRC...
Any gesture can be interpreted in good and bad ways... It's rude to point, unless you're giving someone directions for example.
Gos's explanation - It means Kawasaki... easy.
It should mean KSRC

Re: Has the Kuda had its time..
I think the Kuda's OK. I originally hated it not because of it's connotations, it just reminded me of one of the wanky Gang symbol dumb things ie like some of the meathead NRL players do.
Over time though it's become synonomous with us I think and noone here uses it or intends to use it offensively. Besides I don't want to have to take the stickers off my tracky

It's different to the "shocker", the thumb has a purpose in a proper barracuda anyway, and ours has the thumb tucked away in a similar fashion to the horns.
