Had the doctor visit me today. Didn't expect him on a weekend and thought to myself this could either be good or bad, but most likely bad and him wanting things to happen rapidly.


Turns out it was on the good side. One of the two tests he was waiting on has come back normal. But, he says 50% of people do even if they have rhuemotoidal arthritis, so this next test will be the determining factor. If it comes back normal, then he believes the cause to be viral. It also explains why the current treatment is improving things, but is chasing the virus around my joints. So the steroids attack the virus, the virus regroups in a different joint and the body then attacks that causing the joint to become inflamed.


Bone scans have come back clear with no nasties detected.


Tomorrow, I have been given a day pass. I can go home in the morning and come back in the late afternoon. Woohoo. Puppy play time.


If the it's viral it's 4-8 weeks to clear it for good with steroids. If it is full R.A., then it's similar treatment for life, but he believes he can get it into a sort of remission.


Ok, time to get the neuro to sort my back and we are all good.

Day pass was awesome. Ozkar and I played, slept, ate, slept and then played again all together. He was my little shadow all day. He's turned into a dog know more than a puppy. Not sure if it's coincidence but when we crashed out together, he snuggled up to the knee which was aching.

This crap is just running around my body joint by joint randomly Fucking them over. Tonight it's my shoulders, left hip n right wrist. Some might not believe this next statement, but I'm sick of the drugs.

They should have offered twilight sedation for that, I tried to be a big man without the mild sedative and lasted through 3 of the 8 shots and begged for it, after that it was like what the hell do whatever and off into happy hippy trippy land I went.

It wasn't the needle or the fluid going in which hurt, although that wasn't fun either, but after about an hour I wanted to chop my arms off with a blunt hacksaw to lessen the pain. It was horrid. Not sure what time I posted but the needles were done around 2.30pm maybe 3.

Not sure about yesterday's treatment, but I am being let home this afternoon. Last test came back confirming it was not permanent Rhuemotoid arthritis, but something viral, which they still cannot determine what. But, they are comfortable letting me be treated as an outpatient, with a 6-12 week recovery time supposedly having me back in perfect conditions.

Mate, hanging to ride is not the word. Problem is I couldn't even pull in the clutch at the moment. Still on all the meds I was on at hospital, with a plan to lower the dosage of the steroids and monitor the reaction. Hopefully it will be a nice immune system and reset itself. Otherwise back we go.

But, right now I'm in heaven, lying in bed with Ozkar asleep by my side keeping my aching shoulder warm. Just about to fall asleep myself.
