Install sports bars before P's test Y/N??

Post by Smitty_P »

Hi all,

Long time reader first time poster.

Just wanted your opinion on something. I have had my L's since September and am ready to go for my P's. I have recently acquired sports bars for my bike - should I wait till after I have done my P's to install the new bars or should I go ahead and install them? Any advice on this subject would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Smitty

If you've done all your practicing without the sports bars, i wouldn't change them til you pass the test...

That opinion is backed up here---> http://www.ksrc-au.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=33827

I'm with red_dave, stick with your stock bars. Low speed handling will be trickier with clip-ons etc, in fact if you go watch some bike gymkana videos you'll see sports bikes with the sports bars replaced with upright bars!

With the rest of the guys. Stick with what you're comfortable with for your test and then if you feel you want to change do it. If you've been doing plenty of riding your test will be easy.
