HEY GUYS IM A NOOB :-P

Post by ZX2R_BOY »

Hey guys my names Steven and yes i am a noob. Ive been riding dirt bikes since i can remember but never thought id love street bikes more. Ive always been more of a car guy. My interest in Street bikes started 2 yrs ago when i was smoked by a bike in my FORD TX5 TURBO. It ran 12.78sec on the quarter mile so you can imagine how i felt :P when a bike on the street left me for dead. Since then its always been in the back of my mind, being a uni student and all, that i should sell my car and start riding. So i did just that, sold the car, bought a crap Mitsibishi Magna and a great looking 1989 Kawasaki ZX2R.

So now im saving money and still enjoying myself on the roads. I Love my ZX2R Sounds like a F1 car with the exhaust on it and it doesnt go to bad either for a baby. :D

Anyways thats my story
Feel free to ask me anything

Yea I have alot of friends that ride. Most have the R6 but they all reckon 250s can be fun to learn on the track too. I would love to go to a track day but I'd hate to come off in full leathers, it would cost me a fortune!

Welcome aboard!

If you're going to try a track day hire leathers there ;)

Be warned - it's VERY addictive!
I don't like the term insane - I prefer mentally hilarious!

Hey all! I love how you describe it like flinestones! Lol. I can't wait till I can hop on a 600. Although ive heard great things about those apprilla 2 stroke things. Are they as good and quick as a 2 stroke trail bike?

Welcome aboard.

No road bike will give you the instant 'kick' of an 'MX' powerband, but they are decepivly fast. Even an old 600 is good for 110kph in 1st, just learn your road craft and how to make yourself visable to cars. Not much good accelerating like hell only to come to an abrupt stop!

Yea I kno what you mean...its hard to get experienced riders to come along with a guy on a 250.. So I'm trying to learn the tricks of the trade solo. Going good so far but I kno what you mean by coming to a very fast stop lol.

Thanx for the advice

welcome zxr2r_boy.

smithfield ... mmm tommy kebabs. :)

drags on wednesday nights are mad fun for the $50-ish dollars for the night. and more convenient, (full leathers not required etc). trackday kills it for fun though.

enjoy!
