The incurable disease-Owning a ZRX
so, what is it exctly that turns ZRX owners into such fanatics. NOt all ZRX owners are fanatical modifiers, or blingers. Not all ARZ owners do lots of klms, not all ZRX owners keep them completely stock. Not all ZRX owners ride hard, not all ZRX owners flog shit out of them and not all ZRX owners drag or track them.
But one thing is for certain, that all ZRX owners are amazingly passionate about their ZRX's.
For me, it's lot's of things.
How much I love riding it
Comfort
Luggage capacity
Grunt
Ground clearance
Change of direction
Ability to hold a line while cranked
Simplicity
The smile it gives me everytime I go around the outside of some wannabe one a sports bike.
Most of all, it's the fact that with it's individual compnents, it has no right to be as good as it is!!!!!!! More than the sum of it's parts!
What is it that flaots your ZRX boat and why don;t other people understand what we have????

I'll pass on the cucumber samos and fat chicks

I agree with everything Marty said, but for me the biggest one is the smile it puts on my dial everytime I ride it. And the look on peoples faces after they have had a go - that is priceless

Fast or slow, it doesnt matter. In this day and age THAT is the big appeal.

Oh, the other thing that "floats my boat" is that it looks like a real motorcycle

Re: The incurable disease-Owning a ZRX
After my first real ride this morning here's my first impression.
Once rolling they are really light, flips into corners the second you look for the exit
Power is really relaxed and easy to use. Once you've got it leaned over hit the fun button and ride it out.
Suspension in stock trim is a little crap in a pogo stick kind of fashion.
Climbing off the side of it makes you feel like Eddie.
The engine sounds awesome
No pressure. It looks old no one expects you to go fast.
Stupidly comfortable and vision is brilliant because your sitting up
The most fun I've had on a bike for ages. The sound, the feel, the bouncing around makes you feel like you're riding a bike.
I'm hooked, need suspension work though.

Lovely to watch... How you look at your new lover, then after a while you start buying her gifts, then you start getting really serious. Yeah romantic isnt it?
PS: You can dial the suspension in a little, but the rex is no sports bike. So just screw some comp & rebound into it for now & clock some Ks up. You'll soon get a feel for its short commings & then you can start at improving it.
I think the frame is a lot of the problem, & that you really cant do much with. But you can get some good results with the suspension.. Enjoy mate. I know you will.

Re: The incurable disease-Owning a ZRX
Yep everything harder then everything else seemed to give results. Very nice run this morning with Hoff and Tim. The Beast has been ridden as the manufacturer intended for the first time in it's life I think, strips are gone. Actually once you up the pace a bit it feels better I think.
