I know in QLD you would be baked, a traffic cop does not even need the lidar, he is considered an expert witness, you did what speed he says unless you can prove otherwise. Sorry but I guess it is the same down there too. :x

I too was done in on Sat, my first time riding through NSW on the hume... MIDDLE OF NOWHERE, dead straight with those European style guard metal pipe things on the side, no turnoffs/ons and no cars around so without realising my speed I see an officer in the distance with his bright yellow jacket on... was shattered :/

Shit hey, you def have an argument if you want to fight it, all the best with it buddy.

Write a letter and then explain that you were caught in the middle of a bunch of bikes going past you. He didn't get a speed on you. If you write a good enough reasonable letter they'll let you go. If not take it to court if you feel like it.

In future though make sure that if that happens only the guy at the back stops. The cop can't get all of you and then has to make a decision which one he's going to get.
