Life's journey is not to arrive safely at the grave in a well preserved body. But rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting ...Holy shit...What a ride!

AND WHAT!!!!!!!! have a system that actually works in an efficient manner that would reduce the overall running costs of Vic Roads thus reducing our rego costs...Hmmm..NUP!

Makes me appreciate going into an RTA for a licence renewal and walking away with the new licence 20 mins later.

Yeah hearing ya but what a pain in the arse is seeking insurance and paying that and rego separate, that being said, we don't actually get a choice of insurer here in Vic, it's the TAC or the TAC. To the OP, your rego costs are actually fuck all, it's the TAC component that slugs you and Vic Roads has naff all to do with that.tim wrote:Makes me appreciate going into an RTA for a licence renewal and walking away with the new licence 20 mins later.
A good mate will bail you out of jail, a true mate will be sitting in the cell next to you saying "Damn, we fucked up!!!"

Yeah but the TAC covers you pretty much no matter what in acco's including wages, semi private hospital care, full rehab, and choice of doctor and for life on the actual injuries received. There are a few exceptions like criminal activity etc, but medical is covered, or use to be for everyone.
I suspect they do the delay on licenses for security reasons, there was a big scam a few years back with forged licenses being made.

Sucks.. but I would have argued to keep your old licence until you recieved the new one in the mail..
RE: Licence Security.. recently had my licence renewed and it took 7 working days.. they are a fair bit different, more transparent windows etc..

Re: VIC Roads Licence Printing.......
Late post I know. I think it's because of the new licences here in Vic.
They can't simply be produced in the offices at the moment because they can't replicate the security features.
