Aami v Nrma bike insurance

Post by hoffy »

Howdy,

I cant get shannons insurance where I live for the bike unfortunately so I have to go for nrma or aami insurance, which is about the same price anyway..

Has anyone got any experience with these two companies? I am not sure which to go with, but am thinking claims might be easier with nrma?

Any ideas ?

I had my GPX250 with NRMA and from the time I crashed to the time they paid me was only about 2 weeks. It was very fast.

Hoff, we had our Subaru with AAMI, when Di rolled it, they were no drama, assessed and paid quickly.

over a year later we got a bill from the M7 operators for a destoryed emergency phone (12K), just rang them (AAMI) again even though we no longer had any policy with them and they sorted it out for us.

NRMA better at paying claims than AAMI, but try Western QBE aswell

QBE I found were one of the most reasonably priced and paid pretty quickly as well. (I was with them for 3 months before my car was hail damaged and they paid out no problems at all)

On my 2011 GS1200
Swan - $1300
InsureMyRide = $660
AAmi = $840

Go figure?

I was with NRMA when I wrote my ZRX off early last year and even though I was laid up they helped my wife through the whole thing and paid up in a couple of weeks.

The replacement Z1000 was insured with Shannons (who were much cheaper) when it was stolen during last December and they also werent too bad... Although, they now dont want to know me... I wonder why?
