Sally and I are in Sydney for a quick stopover on the 29th January and are thinking about taking a Harbour Dinner Cruise. Has anyone actually been on one that can recommend one?

We went out on a captain cook cruise for mothers day last year, food was good atmosphere was good, I'd go again.
We had a bunch of seafood that day and didn't throw up the next day so that's a win in my books

As I asked for recommendations from people that had been on them, I can only assume that you booked this for yourself. Not really that surprising.

That's what tourists do! No one that lives in Sydney has been on a harbour cruise (work functions don't count) done a bridge climb (paid for) or been in the Oprah ... Sorry Opera House

You could also try the Sydney show boats, they are a paddle boat. Went on one of them a couple of years ago, was very good.

My suggestion would be to go for lunch or early dinner. The harbour is much better during the day, you will get to see some of the landmarks which can't be seen in the dark.

Alternatively, if you are tight arse like me. Grab a return ferry ticket to Woolwich from Circular Quay, buy an ice cream before getting on and take a relaxing ferry around the east of the harbour. When you get back grab a meal on the waterfront, top food.

I too have done the Captain Cook Cruises thing, both private and corporate .. they do a good job without a doubt, and if you get good weather, there aint a better harbour to cruise round on

or do the reverse.
park at abbotsford wharf ( $0), and get the rivercat (approx $10 each 'return') to circular quay/darling harbour. plenty of fancy pantsy restaurants by the harbour or The Rocks markets if they're on.

Ya may as well get a takeaway, get an early night and go for a ride the next day
