around Melbourne I've encountered them 2 abreast riding up hill with double lines and refusing to move over. in 80 & 100k zones for gods sake. worst part is some of it is on roads that our farking levy was used to fix up.

Upon reading your post again (and you have no idea how much it pains me to say it ) but I really can’t argue with any of what you've said.

While I still reserve the right to be annoyed, I think that (as with any other two wheeled road using vehicle) Cyclists on public roads should have mirrors on their bikes. Yes it is legal for them to ride side by side (as too are motorcyclists), but how ‘considerate’ is riding in packs, particularly well below the speed limit in hilly/twisty areas?

If I still could ride I would take up the whole lane as I use too do, sick of bloody other road uses cutting me off, and I am entitled to use the whole lane

Look in your own backyard before throwing this "legal" stone in your rightous glass houses and if you are squeeky clean law abiding citizen which I doubt, you wouldnt complain because at the speed limit you generally wont be surprised mid corner by a pack of savage cyclists because your speed being LEGAL and your riding to the conditions will allow you to take the correct action

My (current) backyard is now promoting its self as the Lycra Lizard Capital! Im clearly more squwarky than squeeky, but my cornering speed leaves much to be desired, however while im on my side of the road (running beside my bike because im caught in a lizard migration) how do i then account for the on coming traffic swerving to avoid a similar situation in the other direction?

I got a bit carried away with the registration thing and yes it would be a logistical nightmare, but how is it fair to make allowances for pushbikes (regardless of the age of the rider) when they scream they have the same rights as other road users?

Btw by far the worse annoyance on the road is slow arse road hogging motorcyclists who think they can out ride everyone and suddenly speed up when you catch up, usually BMW, P plate, R1 and HD riders overcooking their abilities and satisfying their egos, these people should stay at the cafe where they can stroke each others ego's in safety ffs. Then a close 2nd is mobile phone users, also young women putting on makeup with a car full of friends using mobiles while eating and changing the CD.

Seriously....what if pushies were legalised and at the same they time made all cyclists and motorcyclists wear approved safety clothing and hi-vis vests?

Seriously (I believe) there should be some form of enforced protective clothing for motorcyclists. I totally get that if bogans want to ride in thongs and singlet tops they get everything thats coming to them, even though WE ALL pay for it, but I get sick when i see young kids on the back wearing next to nothing.

Was a lizard and certainly would look a treat in lycra now ,why do we ride side by side?
Safety in numbers, more likely to attract attention and less likely to be hit an run having witnesses as unfortunate as it is its common to be run off the road by aggressive drivers.

BTW AFAIK you can't overtake any vehicle on the right on continuous white lines unless you can safely when they are indicating to turning left but you must be inside the lines but I'm not sure if you must wait until they have exited the main thoroughfare, or only pass on the left if they are indicating right in a single carriage way.

Not admitting anything I may have done right or wrong in this fined state, in other states I may have unknowingly passed vehicles un-lawfully as I may or may not have understood white line law terminology correctly.

Theres nothing that can really be done about pushies just like all forms of transport they all come with their share of fuckwits but if they were to pay a fee each year like a fishing licence after a certain age maybe then they could slug them with some sort of rego and road safty rules .If all else fails we'll just have to keep running them into the gaurd rail
