I have when emailing a seller of products mentioned that I belong to a club with 400+ members and left a link for them in the email to look at the site.

Possitive feedback on forums like this would go a long way for internet or dealer type business, it amazes me our "sponsors" arn't comming to the party.

That type of spriuking may or may not help in getting a good price I dunno but I havn't had any adverese comments regarding it.

I don't like the idea of banner ads on the site... very tacky and I for one don't intend on holding back if I needed to vent, just because they have an ad with us... :? did that make sense?

So just to confuse you and me even further...

NO on the dealers, because of the alienation thingy, and;
Yes for our own recognition tags/cards to show anyone we shop with whoand how many we are...

Is it jimmy o'clock yet?

It is nice to get discounts, but honestly how often do you need to buy something?
Okay, for the otherside of coin

Have Kwaka got a Head Office? Would it be better to talk to someone there and sort out discount cards through them and get them on our side and they can inform the managers, and if the managers dont comply then we complain to the HO. then that way we can visit our 'local' shop and if they refuse or give bad service we can slag them off on the site and never return there.

I guess this really depends on how serious the KSRC mods and operators are.

Sam, It was this statement that I was reacting to. The other stuff I think we all agree on..

If that was going to happen then the deal could only apply to new bike sales, parts etc. Because Kawai HO have no control over what brands and accesories a shop will stock. How often do we buy a new bike? Not often. How often do we need parts? Never, they are KWAKKAS :P

I dont give a fark. I voted no and was going to vote yes too, but i can't do that apparently.
Yes it is Jimmy o clock, Mick.

On another note. John at Mornington Kwaka will give members a 10% discount, is keen on coming on rides with us, supports us / actively promotes us and have our stickers in his store etc. He is not our sponsor, but i go to him because i am looked after there, he is a good guy and i want to support him and his business. So if you want to travel a little further, you will get looked after. He is usually open 7 days too.

I have nothing against our current sponsor, but have never got a discount (even after asking for it)
The day i rode my new bike out of Mornington Kwaka, i stood in Brighton's show room for about 15 minutes with no service, an hour before hand. There loss. I have bought most of my other gear from Mornington too.

I suppose i do give a fark, afterall.

Hate to say it but Id be inclined to vote no inregard to sponsor unless they assist in the exposure we give them on our shirts ie a few dollars.
Im sure that they could cough up a few bucks in relation to this.
I personally and a mate of mine had not great experiences with on "sponsor" and for my money I go to a different dealer and dont get a 10% off cos the retail price was actually cheaper! Weird eh?
Whatever happens Ill go along with the majority or democracy or whatever it is these days, but reading other posts , is it really worth it? esp considering the work our ever loving founder has to do to get the shirts made? And our ever lovable website admin guru is it worth the extra work in getting "banner adds" put in and who is to monitor such and keep up with "whats on special" etc
Leaves too much open.
Rant over back to garage....

I can already see Mad Kaw's response, but here goes:
What about something other than bike shops? ie: track days. I mean I am not buying boots, helmet or gloves anytime soon... but I sure as hell plan on going to the track.

Sam,

Let it go man, the site owner has clearly said no to the idea, simple as that.

The KSRC is just bloody brilliant as is and i for one dont mind just paying for my own t-shirts or whatever. especially if it means the site stays user freindly and non partisan.

With track days you get a group discount just by booking in with 3 or more ppl. Although that doesn't happen in Sydney anymore as you know.. :(
Theres so many on line groups trying it on for discounts they don't do it unless you book out a whole grade...

Whats the position of Kaw Aus to the KSRC. Most companies would kill to have a dedicated bunch of diehard owners who live for and continue to actively promote their product.

BTW, is there a group called the Kawasaki Riders Club. Is this a parallel group of Kwaka owners and whats different about their club / forum.

Honda, through HART, plough a lot of bugs bunny into the Aus motorcycle scene. Likewise Yamaha through their Tribe group. Is the KSRC Kwaka's active, on the street, marketing system?

My poll response was NO, wear a non sponsored KSRC tee to any dealer and get a 10% discount for being a diehard, active, committed, repeat Kwaka purchaser, green blooded, die-in-the-ditch Kwaka owner.

Yours in green,

My thoughts:

No. Basically it seems to be a one way street.

Secondly, for regional people like me, I get good discounts from the shops I go to anyway. A good threat is to say "MCAS has a special on this"... The Gympie mob know my name even...and they remember that I have bought nearly all my gear from there, including my bike.

Here in t'ba, I actually go to the local Yammy dealer for gear, and once to the Suzi/Harley/Trumpy shop. If you visit the bike shops here, you'll see quickly why that is so.

The independance of the forums is the best thing. We can comment without intervention.

The only sponsorship I'd like to see, or really active participation would be more accurate, is from Kwakka Aus themselves. This is what marketing is all about, and they don't seem interested in fostering the links to their customers. Weird. Have a look at how car companies build bridges with enthusiast clubs - the BMW club of Brisbane is a good example. Monthly meetings held at the Brisbane dealership, discount on parts and servicing, provision of workshop manuals (the proper ones!!), preferential treatment for just about everything through the dealer network...BMW lays it on thick.

I think maybe the problem is that this isn't a club in the chartered kind of "Official" way. They probably view it as too loose a collaboration of people. Farkem. I don't really want to be bothered with meetings and agenda's and all that crap. I am pretty sure most people here just want to talk bikes, and go on rides. So far, that suits 440 odd of us to a T.

'nuf said from me.

I think its been very well covered ........ again. We did this when we put the sponsors on the original shirts. I Think we got bugger all outta the deal n i think to get bugger all its gonna take more time from someone then its worth.
Sam you may not need anything for your scoot atm but we oldies are always dipping our hands in our pockets at bike shops for this or that.
Best way is to hang around at a local bike shop n find some staff that are alright n strike up a friendship after that they'll look after you when it comes time to buy stuff. Works for us I get great prices at my local Yawnaha/Spungy Dealer, My mate owns a "Blade" n gets great Prices at The Big Spewie shop in springwood. His Girlfriend owns a Kwaka n gets great prices at the local honda shop. So we shop around n whichever shop has the gear we want at the cheapest listed price then we send in the appropriate person to pay for it n get an extra discount. Save Bunloads.
