Stung in the tit by a stingy thing

Post by Possum »

Chrsitmas Eve on the way to work something hit me in the neck and fell down my jacket..
Stinging me twice in the left breast.. 2hrs after it was driving me insane and i had a decent look finding a long black stinger bout 1cm long, two puncture marks and no critter.

Now other than having one slightly bigger than the other and the constant need to stick my hand down my top and rub the already inflamed area.. wanted to know if anyone could shed light on home remedies to stop the throbbing and tenderness till the shops open tomorrow?

Possum

* Yes in future i will wear a light neck sock..
* Yes in future i will think about not opening my jacket to play with my ipod
* NO i wasnt riding naked
It all comes down to how you ride it.....

Just to be sure you don't get an infection, you should grab the nearest man and get him to suck the poison out

Go to the doc, and ask him to take away the pain, but leave the swelling. The go and get the other side stung :)

I'm sorry we're not much actual help

I'd put it down to chance it's probably never gonna happen again so wouldn't bother with neck socks and worrying about holes in jackets.

Why not whack on a bra and stack some frozen peas inside. Even better frozen chicken turkey or duck, breast preferrably. :kuda:

As a side note, I just found out what a turducken is

VINEGAR would have helped at the initial sting....
but still may do so now ;)
Otherwise all I could suggest is an emergency mastectomy :D
I'm tired, gimme a break

Stingose followed by a cold compress, like an ice pack wrapped in a towel for fifteen minutes max.

Repeat as required.

If this doesn't help see a doctor...

Ice, vinegar are the short/acute remedies as mentioned above, if it still quite inflamed and painful after a day; look for an antihistamine, something like clarityne or telfast; both available over the counter.

It must have been a now dead sizeable critter and most probably not a spider. All aforementioned remedies will offer some relief. The trick is to scrape out the sting because if you pull it out you will only inject more toxin from the still attached poison sac. If it is still enlarged an injection may be the only remedy. Lucky you are not allergic to insect stings. If you still have the stinger take it to the Doc with you it might make identification and therefore treatment easier. Sorry I can't be of much more help.

Cheers and Beers.
