I just test rode a zx14 its FAR from an R!!! maybe they should of called it a Z14D.. Z cause it handles like a 79 model Z900, 14 speaks for itself and D cause its only good for a Drag strip!! Must admit though there aint to many bikes I get on that make me a little afraid when flat changing from 3rd to 2nd at around 7000rpm I returned to the dealership sweating from trying to keep my arse locked in to that lounge chair of a seat.seiko1 wrote:Well I had a ZZR1100 that was Yank ZX11Gosling1 wrote:In your dreams buddy !!![]()

I heard we're going to see the new Ozbike in dealers in the first week of January then there won't be another shipment for about 6 months due to the way they run their production line which switches between models. I'm first in the queue so quit shoving!

Re: 2011 ZX10R RECALL
I noticed you have your arm around a maggot!! Truth is if I do die on it and dont take any1 else out with me (chances are EXTREMELLY THIN) I wont care I done doing what I love nor would any of my friends or family cause they know I died doing what I love the only emotional bastards are the cops and goverment and of course Yamaha finance. Why? Cause the cops are now bored cause for 13yrs they havent been able to catch up to give me a ticket and get off on making my day misserable and geez do they have fun trying and the goverment is now spitting chips cause they just lost another little tax payer. That over weighted no bottom end and come on way to strong top end animal your riding killed something like 14 people in the first week they came out in the states. Dont get me wrong I like 14's. But you shouldnt go around saying Ill be a fatality. Tell some1 to stay upright and they stay upright.seiko1 wrote:All Fatalities, every other bloody daygrego.77 wrote:fatalities??

......from MCN UK:
Kawasaki ZX-10R: "high rpm problems" By - Trevor Fanklin New bikes
21 December 2010 13:30 A Kawasaki insider has revealed that the new ZX-10R has been recalled because "on some engines, at very high RPM and in harsh operating conditions, ie on a race track, there have been some problems."
There is still no official statement from Kawasaki about what it refers to as 'a technical hold' on the ZX-10R. The Kawasaki insider, who does not wish to be named spoke to MCN after Kawasaki announced no bikes will be released to UK dealers until the ‘technical hold’ has been lifted.
Here is the transcript of the conversation:
MCN: What is the reason for the technical hold?
On some engines, at very high RPM and in harsh operating conditions ie on a race track, there have been some problems.
So was the decision made on a safety issue?
No, based on the information currently available it’s not thought to be a safety issue.
So why wasn’t the problem discovered earlier? After all, testing of the WSB bikes has been heavily reported as was the initial press launch?
This is under investigation.
What does technical hold actually mean?
It’s an internal term – a term that the factory uses. It means the factory will suspend any units that are thought to be suspect and stop delivery and sales until problem solved.
How are the bikes going to be fixed and what will the counter measure be?
This is still under investigation. Kawasaki is investigating potential counter measures and will announce a solution when it is available.
Is this a US only problem?
We thought that maybe it was at first because the technical hold was instigated in the USA and European units weren’t suspended until after the American bikes. But the factory now says all machines produced so far will be checked as a measure – this is not uncommon.
The test bikes at the ZX-10R’s week-long world launch didn’t appear to suffer any problems?
All units at the press introduction were part of the initial mass production run, this means that they too will be checked before going on as press test machines.
Thank you, but that doesn’t tell MCN readers what the actual problem is..
Like many people within Kawasaki, I don’t know, that’s what I am saying

Re: 2011 ZX10R RECALL
BULLSHIT BULLSHIT BULLSHIT!!! No way in the world would they recall and offer $$$ back on a ROAD REGISTERABALE car/bike due to an engine failure out on the track. NO bike/car or ANY engine is garenteed to be reliable out on a race track ALL manufactures will void warranty FULL STOP!!! Bmw and aprilia engines exploded from road use, no recal! ducati is being sued in the states cause of melting fuel tanks and they r only replacing them with the same material. Iv been told that the frames are contaminated and faulty, piston rings frying, no oil pressure blah blah fucking blah!! What the problem is I dont know but its not uncommon for a hold or a recall on vehchiles but NEVER in history has ANY manufacturar offered money back on safety or reliabilty issues. Fuck even rolls royce produce faulty air craft engines and fit them to planes 100's of ppl die and still no $$$ back. My best bet is that its an emissions problem or something along those lines where the manufacturar can get sued for millions for EVERY model sold. Dont care no more I bought a Yamaha.

You might be right and i'd hope that kawasaki would come clean with what is actually happening. I'm glad that they are doing the right thing and not fucking over their faithful followers like other bike companies do/have.

yeh at least kawa have been honest about the issue rather than palming it off as user error
since when does taking a bike on a track day void the warranty anyways? insurance on the other hand..

Re: 2011 ZX10R RECALL
Since the bike is designed to be a track weapon I think it totally plausible for the recall to be engine performance related. However if you went and bought a Yamaha then I can confidently assume your not worried about performance

Re: 2011 ZX10R RECALL
How many new bikes have you owned princess? Im a huge Kawasaki fan I own a zx10 04, z9 a1, a gpz900a1, kx500 Iv owned a damn lot of kawasaki's in my life on top of that also. When I was just 16 I went out and purchased a zxr750 from Atkinsons and took it to the creek after running it in on the road and servicing it through them also didnt get nothing fixed under warranty without paying. Zx10 had issues also couldnt get that fixed under warranty. Authorised service stations are paid at an extreme reduced rate when repairing any motor vechile under warranty and they will find any excuse not to fix it. Read your warranty idiot. But than again my 11 yr old son could probably ride harder than you and your warranty issues are of those who have bitch strips on there tires and still have foot pegs in new condition. I havent taken the R1 around the creek yet only picked her up yesterday afternoon but I assure you I'll do low 1.40's on the rock hard dunflops it came out with and the rest of the bike being stock.GPZ_Jim wrote:

Re: 2011 ZX10R RECALL
What specific issues and why not? Thats BS that a dealer wont fix an issue. Any half decent dealer or distributor would support their product to keep your business. No matter how little the dealer gets paid, they made a margin on the bike initially and should they choose to sell it for next to cost just to grab a sale then they may attempt to wiggle out of warranty issues.grego.77 wrote:Zx10 had issues also couldnt get that fixed under warranty. Good luck with the new bike but in all honesty I doubt Kwaka losing a new zx10r sale will bother them. There are plenty who will be happy to go up the list one spot
