Called Balls and they know the bike, said it had simple service, chain & sprokets in 03, service and minor crash repair in 04 (fell of stand kinda minor) and the Ks match up.

Woo hoo I'm orf for a test ride

If it has been riden hard on the road as you say, does it make a terrible amount of difference if it has been raced? As long as it has had no stacks etc.

Sounds like a bike you would be happier with anyway. If it feels good, go for it.

:? sounds alright but just be aware that there's a fair few 7's on the market and they aren't selling that quickly. I think it's because they are a love hate bike...i love mine cause its fast, comfortable, stable and brakes like a bitch....others don't like them cause they're heavy, not a fast turn in, long reach to the bars.
The CBR's are a very popular bike and H..da have brought that model back into the market at $15K cause many find the newer cbr600rr as too racy (thats honda riders for ya  ) so you shouldn't have any probs selling yours. Ride the 7 see if you like it, also try the post 2000 zx6's or 9's if its not your style. There's a couple of very low km 6's on bikesales for under $10K and there's heaps of 7's (23)

Well, took the 7 for a spin (it's for sale in Redwing Honda). Seating is more sporty than the CBR but feels good - suspension is harder on the springs and less damping. Pick up is a tad quicker than the cbr and it felt good and stable even no handed. Brakes were a bit loose and the rear tyre lose grip on a tight left

Got back to the show room and they wanted a 3.5 grand on top of the CBR. I'm like, "I give you an 8.5 grand bike, you give me an 8.5 grand bike and you want me to pay three and a half grand for the privalige?" The sales guy is like well we might be able to drop to 3. I sent em to "www.getfarked.com"

Looks a very clean 7 there Mike and yeah haven't heard too many stories of bike shops doing clean swaps. Maybe try selling private then either picking one up private or through a dealer. Personally(my opinion) i like dealing private much better deals to be had. :D
