Sold the business, now looking for a job & selling the 9

Post by bishboy »

I haven't been very active on here for a few months so I thought I'd let you all know what's going on

After months of thinking I decided to try and get rid of the store or just close it if I couldn't find someoneto take it over. Given the figures I was never going to sell it, so my best hope was to see if another store owner wanted a second store. This has been brought about by extremely low sales have been for past 12-18 months and I have now have run out of money to put into it and am just continuing to rack up debt and outstanding rent and payments to suppliers and to say this business has been a disaster for me would be an understatement, but thats enough of feeling sorry for myself. :?

I found another store owner who would take over the store and then I started the frustrating task of finding a job. In my previous life I was a corporate and agri banking relationship manager so this was the area I was looking but we were looking to move to a regional centre anywhere from Townville to Wagga. I've had a few interviews and am in the final wash up for a couple at the moment, just waiting for the call to tell me I've got the job

Sadly the end result of this is that I'll end up with a huge friggin debt which will take years to pay off and as it more than likely that we'll be anywhere from 6-15 hours away from a track, I've decided that I'm going to sell the 9 and do some motocross instead, probably on an older pre '90 vintage bike just like the ones I rode in my younger days. So as soon as I get the bike washed ready for some photos (if it ever stops raining) I'll be putting it up for sale, but if anybody is interested in the meantime, just pm me or give me a call.

If anybody is interested in some good value fitness equipment, as the store is still mine until changeover (when I get a job) I'm prepared to cut my margins, particularly for my fellow KSRCians, I can have it delivered to the stores in Sydney or Melbourne, just send me a pm.

No good mate...

Having worked with many small business owners who had to close up and move on with their lives, I can understand what a difficult time it is for you.

Good luck with the Job hunt.

I've got a job, we're off to Richmond (halfway between Townville and Mt Isa), but they offered an outstanding package. I'll be looking after the banking banking centre there and managing farming (cattle) clients with loans over $5million.

Apparantly there's a pretty active motocross club in Richmond, so I've just bought a '84 kx125 on ebay for grand sum of $660, just got to tell the wife now

Time to sell the 9, I'll put in the for sale section as soon as I can

Well done on the job - Agri-banking is pretty cool :D

Pity about having to sell the 9 but they're pretty popular - shouldn't take too long to find a home for it :)
I don't like the term insane - I prefer mentally hilarious!
