So...

It is a dual HID and projector installation. My plan was to purchase a new head light assembly, but for $900 they can stick it. This is, unfortunately, irreversible. It involves totally opening the head light housing, gutting it basically, and installing all the new hardware. The projectors are secured by the original bulb holders, and will not vibrate. They are aimed the same way the old lights were.

Believe it or not, this is just the parker lights on. There is a neon halo around the projectors, which i have wired in, instead of the wedge style bulb in the middle of the light housing. Ignition on, the parkers comes on. Once the engine is started, low beam comes on.
This is low beam on. Looking at the light, you can't tell if its low or high beam. But you can tell when you see what its lighting up. The lights use the one element for light, and for high beam, there is a solenoid inside which pulls the element closer to the projector, magnifying the beam more. Simple.

Does it work?

Am yet to ride out in the dark, but it lights up my garage pretty well. Compared to the old lights, its chalk and cheese. These are so much better. The light is more efficient is an easy way to describe it.
Would i do it again? Yes, but not with the kit i bought. In the kit, all the hardware is great. But the instructions might as well have been in chinese (no offense to chinese members) and the wiring loom had nothing to do with the Z. Harness length was to short in some parts, and to long in others. And wires were in incorrect placements. You would think blue goes with blue, white with white etc... but not with this harness. After rewiring the harness, and hiding the ballasts and the 32,000volt transformers behind the housing, its all done! I'm surprised i managed to hide everything.
I don't recommend this for someone with basic mechanic skills. Quiet a bit of electrical knowledge was involved in this install. And opening the glued housing included putting the head light housing in the oven

I have 2 different kits which i was going to install to the TL and Katana headlights. But due to my change of life plans (twins due in April) I'm selling the 2 bikes. Anyone interested in an install and a kit, let me know. I'll supply the garage and tools, you just bring the beer. No reason it cant be done in a day.
