NEW NINJA 1000 COMING FRIDAY

Post by kawa ncl »

Hi everyone,

I've noticed some posts about the new faired Z1000, named Ninja 1000 ABS. Thought I might add a little info for anyone interested :D

Designed by Kawasaki Australia to meet the touring market that still want to be more sporty than a GTR yet have the comforts of a larger, adjustable windscreen, fairings (wind protection), heated handgrips, larger pillion seat and the ability for a host of luggage options.

The new Ninja 1000 is very reasonable priced and will be in store at Kawasaki Newcastle from the 17th of December 2010.

Come on down and check it out if you like or call for a price.

Not wanting to upset the masses, but the way things are going, we will be all riding Ducati's at the rate the Jap bike prices are going.

Is it just me and my logic? If new bike sales are on the up, production costs would be reduced, import costs reduced, then why are the prices of these bikes so high? Aus is a small market, but overall, increased sales should see a better price? I dont see Technology having a significant role in the price as it has generally been around for years on other makes before we see it on Jap production bikes.....

By no means is this the fault of the dealers, its seems as tho someone (Manufacturers or Gumbyment Taxes) is taking us to the ringer and extracting every last cent they can! :(

$10,999 RRP + ORC in the US for the same bike!

Really? wow i didn't realise it was such a big difference, i've decided to hold off till end of financial year anyway, that and the fact that its bitter cold and wintery usually drives prices down a fair bit.....

I had a sit on a green one yesterday at Kelen Kawasaki, and I was told they have a black demo bike as well out the back. Very different from the Zed parked next to it. Totally different top clamps and bars, but overall not a bad looking bike in the flesh. I vaguely remember it was $18250 ride away, but I could be mistaken.

307,006,550 population of USA
21,874,900 population of Australia

In terms of economy of scale and lower production costs we aint got nothing on USA. Sadly, that's why our prices are what they are. Plus I think you're probably onto something when it comes to taxes etc. Maybe one day ...

I think you also need to look at the average wage, in Aus it is significantly higher than the US. Even with the additional population. ;)

Remember years ago when AMCN used to do the comparison, Aus was alwys cheaper than some major markets when compared with all the other factors - including the Big Mac benchmark.
