Seriously???? I asked if he'd prefer me dead on the road rather than alive and giving a statement - doesn't matter apparently as I broke the law.
This is the kind of pedantic shit that infuriates law abiding citizens and gets the rest of the police force hated by so many people. If you stress that you only veered into the bike lane to avoid a collision then you weren't "riding" in the bike lane at all. If you get the notice choose to have the matter heard in court and send a letter explaining all. There is no way it will stick and the officer should get a kick in the arse for issuing it.

Was he highway or a general duties cop? If he was highway you would think he would have issued a ticket on the spot so I'm assuming they were GD's. Did you find out what LAC he was from? Was it the one you issued the complaint in? If he was from the same LAC I can't see you actually getting a ticket if the complaint gets followed through. Who in their right mind would prefer someone to stay in the way of an accident and put themselves in mortal danger rather than move to an illegal part of the road? Fuck me there are some stupid people in this world. :x

Glad to hear you avoided the whole thing and didn't get hurt though mate. :kuda:

Best definition of an oxymoron I have ever seen.

Well done on the observation part and remember you parked the bike to the side of the road in a safe area to render assistance to the accident participants.

Good work avoiding the hit!!
The police would have spoken to everyone involved in the accident, (Which it seems you have absolutely nothing to do with). Do you have contact details for any of the people involved? Who ever was there and is willing to back you up will be of great assistance IF the matter gets taken any further. I hope everything sorts itself out in your benefit.

You bloddy menace to law abiding road users wayne...

Good work on the avoidance...I probably would have ben squashed...

FFS take it to court but I doubt you will get a ticket. If you do also get ACA involved even though I hate most of the BS they peddle but they love this type of thing.

He's probably pissed that you reported what happened and he now has more paperwork to do.

If it goes to court let us know and we can form a neat group in the gallery to oversee the outcome. :kuda:

Awesome for avoiding being the meat in the sandwich
Then see what you get for staying and talking to the cops. It makes you just want to get the hell out of there next time something similar happens. Just let the cops work it out for themselves next time.

Wayne the support is flowing in thick and fast, told Indri about it and her response was

'What a bastard!' 'If I was his wife and he came home and said that's what had happened I'd tell him he's an idiot'

I doubt very much you'll ever see the ticket, I'd say the guy will get a talking-to by the boss.

Thanks everyone - I've written a letter to the police commissioner outlining what happened with the officers details along with that fact that I've complained to the LAC here in Penrith.

I'm totally disgusted with this prick but suspect it wont come to anything in the end. If an infringement notice arrives I'd say most people in Sydney will know purely by the language coming from my place.......

If you haven't posted your letter yet, I would also include....... if an infringement notice arrives in the mail your first calls will be to the TV current affair programs and then your lawyer.

You'll be right Wayne. Unfortunately you just got a knobhead. You'll beat anything they come up with as you were just doing enough to protect yourself. Make sure you get some follow up as the shithead shouldn't be working for us ( and remember these dickheads work for us).
