TiForce exhaust?

Post by wilco39 »

Hi. Does anyone have any experience with or knowledge of TiForce full systems? Do TiForce have a good rep? :?:

Am planning on getting a full system for my rex. Am thinking mabey TiForce or Akrapovic.

Can you get a full Yoshi for an 05 rex :?: Have done heaps of searching on the internet but only seem to come across adds for bolt-on's.

My goals are more power (will also do jetting + k&n), sound, (loud & deep is good) & of course - looks.

Before anyone mentions it - I dont like the looks of the Kerker :( sorry :!:

Any advice or opinions would be appreciated. Cheers :kuda:

Came across this photo of smoenoes bike (from zrxoa), with a TiForce. :supz:

No quality issues as far as I am aware with the TiForce. Greedy has one on his Rex and it looks great, quality is right up there with the Akra / Arata IMHO.

I would get a TiForce over a Yoshi anyday (except in the rainbow colour :vom:) - the way you feel about Kerker's, I fell about Yoshi's

I think Yoshimura stopped making, or never made a full system for the ZRX's, at least not the 1200's only the bolt on can. I am not positive but looking on the ZRXOA site I never saw one with a full Yosh system.
Until a month ago I knew S.F.A. about exhausts for the rex's, but like you put in the research and came up with a decision. Mine was the Akrapovic with Ti oval can, factory Pro 2.5 jet kit with K&N big single filter which goes in the back of the airbox and a +4' advancer. Also disconnect the K-tric thingo on the carbys ............and whammo, it goes like it should. All my info came from the ZRXOA site.
For my fucked out hearing the Akra has a good deep sound and neat appearance. Honestly, I don't think you can go wrong with any of the "good" name systems. I was also tempted with the Muzzy and the Hindle as they are "good" performance pips also. I dig the Kerker, but didn't go it cause it is mild steel and you have to paint it every now and then. The coating doesn't last forever. That was the main reason but they do suit the bike well.I used to have one on an old bike.

By the way, Star cycle in the USA is where I got my pipe from. Good deal and excellent service. Google them, they are good for exhausts ect.

Ha Ha! Sorry for making you want to vomit Phil new_rofl.gif My wife thinks it looks pretty..........Hmmm. I'll put some more thought into it dontknow.gif

Did a bit of research on Arata. They're looking pretty good. Bit pricy though. I guess like anything else, you get what you pay for.

What about this. Anyone heard of a Japanese company called K Factory? They do titanium systems and aparantly have a very good reputation over there in Japan.

When you place your order you can opt for 'blued' headers & mid section. If you like, they also have another process that gives a golden hue. (all hand bent ect). With the can, you have the options of 'blued' titanium or carbon or straight titanium. Also, you can choose the size of the can.

Yep, I've got K-Factory saved to my bookmarks  , there stuff is pretty trick. I have a K-Factory fork brace and carbon fork protectors on my ZRX as well as a K-Factory rad guard.

Just beware when buying systems from Japan, make sure that they are not domestic (Japan) market compliant, otherwise they will be 92db and require gutting. Race systems do not have the same issue AFAIK.

And yes as far as pipes go, you do get what you pay for. In the quality stakes my Kerker is not in the same universe as the Arata on my Z, nor the Akra that was on my 9 - or on any of the ZRX's I've seen ;) .

Wilko,
The K-tric is the wire thing coming off No.4 Carby.
I read on the US forum that the K-Tric sensor retards the timing when you give it full throttle. I suppose the japs put on for emission reasons. The sensor on the carby must be a throttle position sensor relating to the slide.
Just unplug it. If you take it off at the carby, it may change the calibration of the sensor if you put it back on.

Just something to think about fellas.
I have done a lot of research on exhausts, mainly on V8s over 20 years, but its all related. the header is the heart of any exhaust.. The muffler is only a very small part in performance.
Things to look for>>
Check header pipe size & lenth from the head to the collector. Collector postion from the head make big changes as to how & when the engine makes its gains. Then see if it a 4-2-1 or 4 into 1.
4 into 1s usualy give the best topend gain, which for road riding sometimes isnt what you want.
4-2-1 give the best low & midrange/torque results & still give a good topend gain. If your racing 4into 1 is what you want.
The longer the header the better the torque, also the pipe size effects torque. On 4into1 systems. The shorter the muffler the better the topend. You will notice most moto2 & WBK bikes have very short mufflers. As do moto GP.
I could go on with a lot of explanations for all this, but if you look at all the systems on the market, you will notice there a huge difference's in their configreation[spelling] so take note the TiForce system in the pic [to me] looks the best system ive seen so far for the ZRX.. IMO

Now the Ktric, from what I can gather is a TPS [throttle postion sensor] The reason it retards the timing on the US models is because their fuel has a very low RON. as low as 75 in some states. So the engine will detornate without a timing retard/TPS,
We have pretty good fuel out here 95 & 98 RON so the TPS isnt as importent. Disconecting it will just stop the timing from retarding. Which with good fuel [wont make much difference] Nothing more. Thats the other reason they have a big market in the US for the 4deg advancer plate.
I havent disconected the TPS to try it, I have a 4deg advancer, but I doubt disconecting the TPS would make a big difference, simply because we have good fuel here. So disconecting it would make little or no difference.
Again IMO..

I am running the Ktric unplugged, & it has made a noticble improvment to WOT acceleration around 4000rpm. Very helpfull for highway overtaking.
Since it takes about 3 mins to unplug, I would suggest you try it.
Make sure you unplug the unit (just under the rhs back of fuel tank, follow the wire from the ktric sensor about 150mm), do-not just disconnect the sensor from the carbies, it can actually be left on the carby untouched.
Thats what I have found anyhow, bear in mind, I have ZZR cams also.........
Sorry if this is going off topic
