Re: Riders Choice my arse!
Perhaps try "Famous Insurance". They used to be called something else until taken over.......can't remember what. Two weeks ago I got a quote for my new ZX10R from Swann (via the bike shop).......$675. Famous price was $450 so I went with them. I had my ZX12R insured with them for a few years, also for a competitive price. Don't know how good they are at handling claims because I've never made a claim, and I guess I get something of a no claim bonus off the policy price.

Yeah she was with famous, we were just looking around for comparisons, famous were $90 dearer but had $100 more for agreed value and the excess was $100 less ($300)

Insure my ride has lots of catches in the fine /fine print... read carefully.

Paul if the youngest rider is over 40.......... Arista only insure 40 plus and are priced pretty good. Most importantly they also pay when if it comes time to make a claim, as a mate of mine can confirm
Just googled it and found out they are now Famous Insurance..........

Re: Riders Choice my arse!
I have been shopping around for my ZX10R. I have always had my bikes with Shannons since I was 25 (now 28) as they covered track use re training days but since they now don't I have been shopping around.
Currently for an 09 ZX10R 28yo male rider insured at market value with full no claim bonus this is what I have got:
Shannons: $1420
QBE: $1490
IMR: $1290
Swan: $1080
Now I rang Shannons to query the ridiculous pricing and they said they wont even look at making the premium cheaper. QBE said they would price match (and they have track training days covered) but only for an active policy, not a competitors quote. Swan don't cover track courses so I am thinking of getting a Swan policy then switching over to QBE provided they price match the Swan policy like they said they would

I would go western QBE, but when I rang them they refused to acknowledge there was such a motorcycle as a Kawasaki Z1000 .. dont ask WTF is up with that, I just gave up and went elsewhere..

Re: Riders Choice my arse!
I hope you put down that you'd changed your steering wheel to handlebars!
I looked at my credit card statement yesterday and would you believe it my DRZ is insured with Swann
they were the cheapest option when I bought the bike new, so given that address details were all the same I'm really not sure why they want to charge my G/f so much for her bike!?
