my musical Zed
so, i get this lovely "whistling" sound from my otherwise fantastic sounding bike. i know it's coming from the tank, as soon as i pop the tank open, it goes "ppfsshh" and the whitle is gone..
any thoughts/suggestions to remedy this?

There is no obstruction, Its when it doesn't make the sound you have to worry

Re: my musical Zed
Probably normal. It happens on my ZRX1200S. Quite a few members provided opinions on it when I posted the similar problem a few months ago. It certainly hasn't affected the bike's performance.

Almost every bike on the planet does it. Just because you havn't heard it previously, doesn't mean that you previous bikes didn't do it. Unless you previous bike was a 1954 Douglas!

Re: my musical Zed
My ZX10 does exactly the same thing. Lots of talk about it on ZX10R.net and its perfectly normal.
Loads of people have commented on mine doing it though.
I also mentioned it to the dealer I bought mine from and he also said it's normal.
Why is there excess pressure in their though? Shouldnt it be under vacuum if fuel is being used from the tank?

Re: my musical Zed
I noticed the same sound on my Z1000 also. I was assured by my mechanic, and everyone on KSRC, that it is normal

Cheers,
Anne
