Re: ZRX Exhaust
I am still waiting for my jet kit to arrive......USPS tracking tells me it cleared customs on the 18th, so hopefully tomorrow. Possibly redlining again on the weekend. The Akro Pipe looks the goods, and fitted perfectly.

Re: ZRX Exhaust
Here you go, Fitting the pipe was a beeze. Very well made and everything went together beutifully. It's nice and light as well.
The air filter ( K&N) single tapered one and jet kit went good as well but I think a Dyno run might help get the best out of it all. I just went with the Factory Pro instructions recommended for jetting and although I think I could be a little rich in the pilot jets. Mains feel good for roll on at low revs. Unforunately I only got a short ride in yesterday arvo to test her out, and today was raining all day. Sounds awsome.... not too loud when your just cruising, but when you open it up, a nice sharp howl soon comes in and increases to redline.
I am impressed how much these simple mods bring the ZRX alive.
I still have to put the +4 advancer in and I am hoping that might crispen the rev range up a litle bit more.

Re: ZRX Exhaust
Looks good, I used the recommended settings when I installed my jet kit / pipe and its pretty much spot on in the AF
Lets hope yours is similar.

When the weather dries out a bit I"ll see how it goes with the +4 advancer, maybe a little different. It just feels a bit doey off idle at the moment.

Re: ZRX Exhaust
I had the same problem with mine, 38 pilot and 2 turns out on A/F screws....as per FP's recomended settings.
Tried different settings and settled on 1.5 out and its much better.....dyno run confirmed this.
Looking good by the way

Thanks J-rex. I'll give that a try. i was going to go back to the 35 pilot, but 1/2 a turn on each one sounds much easier first up.

I am running a Dyno-Jet kit & 38 Pilots, pretty sure I started @ 1.5 turns & all are within 1/4 turn from there.J-rex wrote:I had the same problem with mine, 38 pilot and 2 turns out on A/F screws....as per FP's recomended settings.

I bought a set of Carb Balancer gauges (dial type) from Z-Power for about $100 (6 yrs ago), very handy for doing this type of work & allows you to do your own carb balancing as well.

A 90' screwdriver is handy too, buy one from a bike shop specifically for Carby adjustments. Mine is Motion Pro cost me about $60 from a local dealer.
I battled with diffrent socket/screwdriver/ratchet ring spanner combinations, in the end the right tool for the job is best.
And yeah, she's lookin good

Re: ZRX Exhaust
Good tools definately help, i've got the Motion Pro 90' screwdriver too Errol....makes adjusting the screws so much easier....
Arkup, Let us know how you go....another easy way to tell if your close is whether you can start it up using normal/full choke.
On 2 turns, i could'nt do this as it was too rich, would kick over with no choke and slight turn on the throttle..
After going to 1.5, it started normal.....full choke every time...........no problems since....

Re: ZRX Exhaust
Yeah, I found the same thing on 2 turns. Went back 1/4 of a turn and was using half choke for a cold start.
I am going back to the #35 pilot's and see how it is. I read on the F.P. instructions, that if you are less than 1.75 out on the #38 pilot to go back to #35's. It's only for start up and off idle, so I reckon it may help keep the plugs a bit cleaner being a bit leaner, but still using the choke from a cold start.??? Mains are good at 130, 132 and with needles at 3rd clip (middle) pulls pretty hard,
although I have only been for one short ride. I still havn't been for a thrash with the +4 advancer plate installed yet.....been busy working ect. I will have time during next week, so I will give her a good run then..... Putty rd to the 1/2 way and back on a good day usually gives a good indication how things are!!
