Missing bits!
Well after a bit of a spirited commute home last night and noting that my bike didn't quite feel right I decided to have a quick look over everything to make sure it all looked OK.
Noticed that my LHS Exhaust looked a bit strange. Then noticed my plastic fairing looked to be out of place.... then noticed the reason why.
Anyone had similar experiences with loosing bits of your bike? Luckily the clamp on the linkage and the servo motor cables kept it attached.. I've now gotta source the bits from the local fastners as the local bike shop wants too much for the OEM ones.

Duane, STEP AWAY FROM THE TOOLS. DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING OR EVEN THINK ABOUT TOUCHING ANYTHING UNTIL I GET THERE.Duane wrote:Well after a bit of a spirited commute home last night and noting that my bike didn't quite feel right I decided to have a quick look over everything to make sure it all looked OK.

Yes, the barge used to lose subframe bolts until i locktited them all. You need to do the same thing by the looks of it, use the blue one.

Re: Missing bits!
Last Gingers run going up Thunderbolts I was behind Richo and I noticed something flick off his bike about hald way up.
We got to the lookout, and his exhaust hanger bolts had come away as well, the pipe was just bobbing around on the link pipe
Robracer came to the rescue with cable ties and tie-wire, then we all stood back because Gazgyver was in his element and he needed some room to work his magic.

Re: Missing bits!
Guys, Shut up and don't give Duane idea's to try and use a tool himself. He just can't be trusted.
The last two times he chose to use a tool the out come was.... well lets just say......Well lets just not say.
First time was a phone call to me "Stace, i'm fitting my fender eliminator and i've undone one bolt and it snapped".... Duane, Step away from the tools, Do not touch anything.
The second time........... Now he is an expectant father.
You see, he either breaks things or the tool itself discharges.

Yep my exhaust tried to part with the bike at a recent track day.
Duane, you need a real big torque wrench and an experienced hand to show you how to use it. We'll send Firey straight away............

Shotgun approach - if you spray enough shot around you'll hit something.dutch80au wrote:Now now, don't through the praise out there too early............might have been a fluke
Costless Bolts are good for bike nuts, bolts etc (but they're in Ringwood)

Re: Missing bits!
Mine was the same Duane a lot of loose bolts...And as Hoffy has suggested I lock tighted all the one's I thought would give me dramas....one tip though don't use locktight on any well nut'shoffy V2.0 wrote:Yes, the barge used to lose subframe bolts until i locktited them all.
