When is the best time to buy a new bike(at the cheapest price)?

- Ie: I want to buy new...

.........so am i best waiting until the new year and hoping the previous year is reduced in price? Will the price drop of current model once the new model is announced?

It depends what you want to buy. When the new model is in or due to be released they usually drop the price of the older model eg ZX10 now $16490 ride away. New models "should" hold their price for some time. Exchange rate may help in the coming weeks/ months also the end of year will help with the compliance date showing 2010. They will be harder to sell in 2011.

You are half right you are an arse. Actually just before the weather gets cold or towards the end of a model year is the best two times to buy. Sometimes at the end of a model year a dealer will have left over stock they will sell at almost cost just to get them out to get the new models in. People often call me a smart arse but I never have been smart.
