Richo
One of our much-loved members, Richo, suffered a cruel and senseless assault over the weekend. He is doing well now, though admittedly still sore, and his physical wounds are healing. The emotional wounds will probably take a while longer to heal.
I'm sure you're all interested in knowing what happened... He was enjoying the view off the side of a mountain***, thinking about the various destitute children and puppy rescue charities he is devoted to supporting in his spare time, when suddenly, he was struck from behind in a cowardly attack. A boulder, thrown from the other side of the mountain, jarringly struck his temple, knocking him to the ground. With blood streaming from his head, he groped his way back to his bike. Fortunately, other ksrc members were there to console him and offer him prompt first aid. He was airlifted from the mountain to the local hospital, who stabilised him and staunched the life- threatening blood loss he was undergoing. His great spirit and extreme physical fitness allowed him to rejoin the ride, however he was a little nervous for the remainder of the day and I won't be surprised if he suffers from mild ptsd on mountaintops in future.
I know we are all probably feeling vulnerable, and wish to lash out at Richo's attacker. Inside of indulging in justifiable anger, think about the sort of person who would do something this vicious to an elderly man like Richo. He must be a sad, sad person and probably needs our forgiveness and love, not our anger. He probably feels a lot of guilt, and feels dirty... or at least muddy
In lieu of gifts, Richo asks that you hug a puppy in his name. Hopefully he will be strong enough to join us on a group ride again
***(there are rumours that he was taking a quick toilet break at the time, but I find it hard to believe a gentleman of Richo's calibre would indulge in public urination)

I thought it was a kidney stone that went wrong...
If you have no fear, you're not going fast enough.
Never argue with an idiot. He'll drag you down to his level, then beat you with experience.

Yes ... and let it be said that real men do need consouling, HOWEVER only after said member is out of ones hand and the stream has ended . ..
Im now healing nicely, and thanks to all those who have hugged a puppy
The MRI was all good, and the stitches come out in 3-4 weeks . .

And on the seventh day Richo ended his work which he had made. Decided resting was for soft cox, straddled the REX and headed up the old road.
And it was good

If that was the case then Red Dave would never be consouled, His members always in his hand.Richo wrote:Yes ... and let it be said that real men do need consouling, HOWEVER only after said member is out of ones hand and the stream has ended . ..![]()
