My Zed (2004)
Re: My Zed (2004)
No not a bad thing, the GPz750 's are ripper little bikes and PC rocks
, he let me test ride his Zed when I was deciding between a Zed or a ZRX (or an sv1000 - but I'll keep that quiet). The Zed won hands down on the
factor.

Did you also notice the massive power increase I did when I junked the OEM system and fitted the full Arata system?dub wrote:Pipe arrived yesterday and was on the bike in a flash...I now have a bike that definately makes the appropriate vroom vroom noises
Some kind of levitation anti control seemed to have been fitted at the same time

I haven't ridden it yet, hopefully tomorrow but definately Sunday. Only being a slip on I'm not expecting much in the way of a power increase, they claim 5% on their website.Phil wrote:Did you also notice the massive power increase I did when I junked the OEM system and fitted the full Arata system?dub wrote:Pipe arrived yesterday and was on the bike in a flash...I now have a bike that definately makes the appropriate vroom vroom noises

OK, here are some late afternoon low light pics, might get some better ones tomorrow in the full light of day. Anyone of you Canberrians want to come for a pre-game ride tomorrow?

Still needs the sticker put on. I wasn't sure but I think it needs it

I'm sans a chain guard, so the rego label will have to do for a while. At least its the right colour

One one to show how it routes behind the shock

Looks good, nice shape.
I'd take the rubber bits out of the now non used footpegs - or put the big crome washers and bolt back in - or they will just fall out

Re: My Zed (2004)
Went for a good 1.5 hr ride today though the local hills, the bum dyno thinks there might be slightly more mid range but there is definately no less. I had it dyno'd as stock so I'll get it thrown back on the dyno when it gets a service in a few weeks.
I took some better pics...

and a vid (click on image to play), still got the baffle in as I've read that I'll definately need to get a PC and remap with it out

Re: My Zed (2004)
Time for a thread revival...
I've been thinking about a full system for the Zed for a while now. I've been trawling ebay and most of the usual places trying to decide which way to go with it. I knew it was always going to be overkill but sometimes a boy needs more toys.
Anyway after a few drinks a week or so ago, after everyone else had gone to bed I was wasting time surfing the usual sites, when my credit card got the better of me and I pulled the trigger on a full 4 into 1 Arrow system. I wasn't too keen on the long cylindrical pipe like the akra etc, so I've been trying keep my leo pipe and get some leo headers to match, but it all go too hard and the Arrow was a bargain.
It arrived yesterday, so today I decide to "work from home".
Step 1 - get everything out of the box.

Step 2 - mock it all up. It was like a man sized 3D jig saw puzzle as there were no markings for what pipe connects to what, but it wasn't too hard. You just needed some spacial imagination.

Step 3 - Take off the old, and bolt on the new. I needed to drain and remove the radiator but it was all pretty simply, fiddly but simply.

I did some weighing of everything while it was off the bike...
Full OEM - 16.3kg (its amazing how heavy the stock mufflers are)
OEM headers with leo vince 2 into 1 slip on - 5kg
Full Arrow system with Titanium muffler - 4.3kg
Bring on the weekend for the PC3 installation.

PC's bike used to make me wet myself a little bit when I heard it, I bet yours sounds very similar now...
