Ninja 250R turns but won't start :(
Hey all ..
So I finished installing an R&G Racing Fender Eliminator last night, left the bike overnight and today then tried starting it to head to uni tonight and she wouldn't fire .. she tries to turn over (I only try in 4-5 second intervals) and it sounds like a strong effort but never kicks in. I thought it may have been battery related given I was fiddling with the electronics and had it on a fair bit when testing the indicators/tail light etc.. but just tested it with a multimeter and it's still got 12V worth of juice.
I took it out for a nice ride on Sunday and she was fine, the only other time it's turned over since then was once when I was installing the kit yesterday and that was only for a brief 30 seconds. My guess is that 'brief 30 seconds' may be contributing here as it was running cold and rich, and maybe somethings flooded?
Forgive my lack of understanding here everyone haha, this is my first forte into mechanical maintenance .. I've heard of others flooding the carbs in similar situations, could that be the culprit? Or perhaps it's just that bloody cold in colah that it hates it .. any ideas are appreciated though i know it's tough to diagnose over the net, thanks a lot ..

It could be a fuel vapour lock in the lines, try opening the fuel tank to release the vapour. Just a guess

I'm really hoping this 'its too cold in the garage' theory is plausible

Its got petrol?
Your using the choke?
Maybe you've flooded it?
Otherwise rip off the seat(check fuses) and you could try charging your battery or hook it up to a car battery. Just make sure the car isn't running when you do and you put the neg lead on the chasis of the car. Then crank away, it should fire if its getting fuel.
If it was running on sunday I cant see that it would not be getting fuel or you could try squirting fuel in the air intake (take rhs black panel off).
Good luck
Edit make sure red switch on rh handle bar is on
:)

Know of any way to checkl the cable Tim??
Shes got petrol but running on the low side, within the last quarter tank .. can still see fuel though if I pop open the lid. Tried with and without choke. The webs leading me to believe the flooding theory Reedy .. if it doesn't turn over tomorrow I might look into draining it. Will check the fuses out now. All else fails though theres no problems with jumping it from a car?
Yeah what confuses me is how quick it went from running beautifully to not starting :\ Just doesn't make sense .. Cheers for the luck mate.
You realise all this talk of the killswitch is making me paranoid, I'm going out to check again lol ..

stands up, clutch in with neutral engaged .. swapped out the ignition fuse even though it looked alright, nothing changed. All my other electrics are fine so that rules out fuses ..

Re: Ninja 250R turns but won't start :(
well its either going to be fuel or spark seeing as it cranks over
oh & jumping from a car could be suss, better off charging the battery than possibly frying your electrical system

haha full of regrets reedy, full of regrets -_- .. though in saying that the R&G does look a treat
Ok that gives me some more precise direction, cheers Rob .. I'll check the sparks now too, else my guess is tomorrow afternoon will involve checking for flooded carbs

Re: Ninja 250R turns but won't start :(
switches and fuses would allow it to turn at all.
Check all spark plug lines are connected properly or maybe some bad fuel. Flooding also seems key
