Post by kevindinho »

Hi yall

Just wondering why the hell does it take so long for my boot to arrive from America? it says that it ships in 2 days. But its been like 3 weeks already, could it be due to quarantine? :x

Depends how its coming. When we mailed stuff from Europe some got on a plane and was quick but other stuff came by ship. Luck of the draw in our case.
Do you have tracking numbers etc?

Mate, usps is the base shipping from the equivelant of Aussie post, ive had stuff get here in a week, and stuff take 5 weeks, like dilligaf said, its luck of the draw.... Had it been UPS you would have been set with a tracking number, but the shipping would have cost triple.....

I got my exhaust within 3working days from the US with express post international ;)
My recent purchase of carbon fibre bits from the US was on the 28th aug(sat) they were sent on 1st sept(weds) and from what the tracking information says, they arrived in Aus and were cleared by customs on the 3rd sep(fri)..
This was via USPS Priority mail international parcels, and cost me $37.20 USD :P

it could take 2-3 weeks if its just startard first class mail, having said that, priority mail can be the same, i think the only difference is that priority mail will give you a tracking number. Sometimes you can be lucky and have a parcel that is standard mail get here in 4-5 days.
Sometimes thier postage charges are just silly, for instance i paid $45 for a small item around 1kg, but i got my pipes from the US, international express, a big box for $75 came within 5 days.

It may also be Aus post ineptitude, once it took 3 weeks for a parcel to come from WA, thats just pathetic :x
Let the good times roll.

I have had mountains of stuff sent from the US, and I have used almost all of the carriers there are. Generally, USPS would be my first choice. They do provide tracking numbers with everything I have had sent, and they have all been very quick. An exhaust in 3 days, and the worst was 7 working days. The other benefit is that if you are not home it only goes to your local post office. The postman will leave a card. If it is sent via UPS, DHL, Fedex, etc... they will most of the time take it back to their depot and you will have to travel further to get it, if you get the notice at all. Have had UPS leave a note in the letterbox, even though I was home and saw them pull up out the front. Lazy bastard could not be bothered walking a few meters to the front door!

But yeah, I would be asking the vendor for the tracking number quick smart.
