Yes it is quite strong sucktion, but it also can shake a fair bit especially if you use heavier cameras on it. If you were using it off the side of a car you would want to be on very smoothe road or else it would jump around alot. I used my dslr that has video ( canon 7D), it is rather heavy, but i managed to keep it fairly stable with foam and tapeI had a look at Richo's FG setup at Marulan...very impressive for the stability it has.
