I was just thinking about something that may be of use in court. Do they give any evidence that the camera vehicle they are in is stationary? If they dont, then it cannot be proven 100% that the speed they measure you passing their vehicle is correct.

Am I right?

Take it to court, & ask them for the camara's last service records. If they can not produce it, then how can it proved to be correct?? I know they wont be sitting there with the records in hand, simply in NSW no one even turns up to court.. Case dissmissed.. ;)

And more to come, apparently. Saw one on the great western the other day, east of prospect. hiding almost behind a bush. Not a sign in site. RTA is supposed to list the location of these things, and prospect is not one of them. If I had seen him in time to be able to pull over, I would have gotten his details.

Not a mobile speed camera, but read on

1. In the mail, I received a camera fine; 118 in a 100kmh zone... On a freeway
the likes of which you are allowed to do 320kmh in Europe. I disputed the matter in court.
I had the paper work from the Victoria Police Farce with me and their documents stated
I'd been detected "speeding" by a GATSO device. I did my research on GATSOs and found a flaw with the system. It was this flaw I attempted to use as my defence. Now get this! The Magistrate told me there is NO GATSO at the location in question. Good...??? Not fvcking likely!
Found guilty, fined, and demerit pointed...... Only in Victoria.

By the way, I went back to the location stated on the infringment notice and the magistrate was right. There was no GATSO.

The magistrate did not want to punish me for "speeding". She was punishing me for bringing a traffic infringement into her court.

2. Another time I was in a 70k zone approaching a 90 K sign and was LASERed for exceeding 70. The cop was hiding like a skulking sewer rat in the bushes. Later I went back to the site and took a photo in the direction of my travel at the point of were I was LASERed. The 90Kmh sign was clearly visible, took that to court and was found guilty again.

The way I was driving(1) and riding(2) was in absolutely no way unsafe. In fact, in point (2)
doing 70 at that place, at that moment would not have been as safe as doing 90.
I am a motorcyclist with 42 years of experiance, some of that as a despatch rider, riding 9 hours a day, 5 days a week, rain, HAIL (+Tram tracks... which are always fun when there's hail), SNOW, and shine. My point is, i'm old enough to want and need to look after my skin. I dont need some fvck wit beauracrat (who probably couldnt drive a greasy stick up a cats arse) to tell me what is and what isnt safe to do.

In item 1. I said "The magistrate did not want to punish me for "speeding". She was punishing me for bringing a traffic infringement into her court.....the reason was a deterant to hopefuly stop
people from bringing infringements to court.... 'Cause if everybody did it, the revenue rakers would be fvcked.

I cant do this alone. Please DISPUTE EVERY INFRINGEMENT YOU GET..... SPREAD THE WORD because the vast majority of the fines, loss's of licence and loss of freedom we are suffering HAS NO FCKING THING TO DO WITH ROAD SAFETY.

Now there's an idea...
In NSW I'm sure most of the profits are spent on overseas trips and visits to the knock shops..
It's all about the revenue....$$$$$$$$$....Safety runs a very sad second IMO
Ca ching....thats the sound all these speed cams make....Mobile or fixed....

I think they should install as many cameras as possible and give me a percentage of the profits. I'm not greedy... 5% will do :)

Agree with you there Jonno
I personally would rather see this revenue raised used for road safety and better upkeep of the roads etc.
Not politicians spending money whilst on luxurious business related trips..

It does annoy me the way these mobile speed detecting devices need to be set behind trees or at the bottom of a hill etc...If they were fair dinkum used for safety and not revenue raising why not sign post em and make em totally visible...
People tend to slow down the moment they see the law regardless of the speed they are doing.

In South gippsland (1984'ish) around the Korumburra area towards Yarram they used a full size sign in a trailer of a canary yellow VK police car strategically placed at various points and everyone had hot brakes around it

Occasionally they would put the real car there just to keep everyone honest, it worked because it was about presence, safety, not about revenue, that came later with the radar pokie machines eventually replacing the amphometer tapes.
