Hi Marty
I never like to post on the personal stuff but everyone of us send our kindest loving regards to you.
Go gently & think about how much your mum loved you all the time.

As always, the KSRC support is humbling and appreciated. Funeral is Wednesday. Feeling ok mostly. Happy when I think from mum's perspective, sad when I think from mine. Just gotta keep thinking from mum's side!

I would like to say thank you to each and every one who has expressed their sympathies and support over the past few weeks. It has been a difficult time and your kind words and ecouragement always means a lot to me. Thank you!

Yesterday we lay my mum to rest for the final time. I had imagined that it would be a difficult day and I admit, it was tough, really tough. My daughter was deeply effected by the whole thing. She drove up from Melbourne with her two little ones to attend. Nana (Her Mother's Mum) looked after the boys while she attended the church service and then she collected them and bought them to the wake. It was the first time they had met their 2nd cousins and only the 2nd or 3rd time they had met their cousins. So it was a good day for reuniting family. But Jess was very upset. For her, it was trying, as she had lost her only link to the family other than me. My Father doesn't have anything to do with her and barely aknowledges her two boys. Mum was the only one to show any interest in Jess and the boys. So she must be feeling a little vulnerable. But, considering, I think she did OK.

When I was 14, I had to be a pall bearer and carry my grandfather into and out of the church, as well as from the Hearse to the Grave site. I found the whole thing emotionally heartbreaking. Yesterday, I did the same thing for my mum. This was the most difficult, but also perhaps the most noble of acts I had to perform yesterday. Difficult, as I knew that this was it. That we were taking mum to her final resting place never to be seen again. It hurt. It still hurts writing this! But, I also felt proud, that I could as a last act as a son, carry my mum to her final resting place.

Thankfully once again, I had Tatyana and my daughter by my side which was an incredible support

Those who have had to do bury a mother or father, I know how much it hurts. For those who are yet to suffer through this, I wish you immense strength when you do.

My mum was a very humble and simple human being and one of her explicit instructions, was that no Eulogy was to be delivered. In keeping with her wishes, I will refrain from writing any tributes to her. I believe yesterday's service and burial where over 700 people attended is testiment to the person she was.
