05 636 parts please

Post by sh001 »

Hey I just bought an 05 636. Its a great bike but the previous owner had fitted a custom type exhaust to it and I dont really like how loud it is. He gave me the standard muffler and a few bits which I would like to re-fit. From what I can find out im missing the main large plastic type heat shield that goes over the top from around where the muffler joins on and also the small metal shield bolted to the muffler near the valve. Im also missing the standard number plate bracket/holder. Ive tried a few wreckers but no luck so far. If anyone has any of these parts or knows where I could find them please let me know. Thanks

what exhaust do you have? ive got all those parts laying around but im not happy with my aftermarket exhaust.
Interested in swapping the parts for the exhaust? with a cash adjustment if needed

The guy I bought it off had it made up. It looks like its all been done profesionally with stainless pipe and welds. It looks like twin 06 r1 mufflers shortened and with free flowing baffles in them. Hes also made up a number plate bracket with smaller indicators and led number plate lights. He said something about some sort of arm which goes on the servo motor to stop the ECU fault codes which would go with it all too. It just seems a bit too loud my early morning rides to work. I can post some pics some time if ur interested

I think i'll be doing the same look around for the original exaust surround.
just bought a 06 zxr636 and it has a yoshi pipe.
nice note not loud.
but it has been attacked by a NSW wally they rip everything from under the assss not a good look.
akrapovic do a nice pipe that fits inside the standard plastic shields. sounds good to.

na
you shouldn't.
just you get it easy on the under tail tidy stuff and from a lot of bikes i see from NSW they try to get the tail to be as close to a GP bike as possible.
which is stripping all the factory stuff off .
doesn't always look good, but thats just my oppinion.
some try it here in plod town QLD and we get reemed and have to restore the rear.
which is what i'll be don't very soon.
my bike is ex NSW , they didn't stripp too much but still looks un finished.
