As I understand that, unless you actually PARK the bike, that's illegal too, something about abandoning a vehicle or words to that effect.Six Addict wrote:i believe as has been suggested by the our resident policeman before, you should put your bike on the stand, walk over to the pedestrian crossing and push the button... this will activate the change in sginals...

Its true. We don't always have the penalty book handy like the TMU guys do. Very often (nearly all the time) we simply gather the information we require and fill out the notice's at the end of the day and send it them in the mail.Nelso wrote:Yep, common for General Duties. I'd have to confirm it but I'm pretty sure GDs don't carry infringement books around with them like highway do and just use the one back at the station when they get back in.greg wrote:he says you will probably recieve fine in the mail.....Is this the norm???why didn't they issue me on the spot....? As for the arguement about the traffic light rotation. It actually sounds almost like a good arguement. I have come across the issue myself as a rider though so I might be more understanding than some. If you did contest and you were to decide to make that arguement in court, in front of a Magistrate, under oath then it i would love to know what the out come of it would be. The general duties will have made notes (that you have not, and probably will not see) in regards to your actions leading up to the alledged offence though, so i'd be careful about saying something like "i was there for ages" when the constables notes (correct spelling) say something like "observed motorcycle approach intersection after traveling north on blah blah, then turn left heading east on blah blah" or so on.

Bugger Greg! how about getting a camera and recording you @ the lights for the 10 odd minutes hehe then u can use this as "evidence" in court when you contest it
im sure the judge will make a reasonable decision unlike those cops.

When i grow up i want a ZX6R just like Rob Racer...
