Re: NSW CTP Rally
Great idea Nick,
Also to raise some further awareness, some of the rides into the city should be co ordinated as well.
Obviously we all need to be well behaved and consider other road users, but i would love to think that there would be a number of groups from every direction travlling together to get to the meeting point.
Im in the Hornsby area so if there are any others interested we can organise something like meeting somewhere with plenty of free space and set off via an agreed route to the meeting point.
Cheers

Re: NSW CTP Rally
I might have jumped the gun a little bit, I have had response back from the MCCofNSW
Nicolas,
Thank you for your email. As we have been awaiting permission from the Police for our Protest Rally, we thought it wise to not go off “half-cocked” in case changes to our plans were forced upon us. Expect to see full details on the MCC website in the next couple of days.
Warmest regards,
Rob Colligan
Chair
Motorcycle Council of NSW
Mob: 0401227731
Smithy not sure I would be the best choice based on the reply.
In any case I will wait and see what comes up and than make a decision.
Nick

Re: NSW CTP Rally
Has anyone thought about canvasing the greens on this one? It appears to me as though this is a deliberate attack on smaller (ie especially 250cc) bikes; given the numbers of the smaller bikes on the road, the government has obviously woken up to money they are missing out on.
When the efficiency of these smaller bikes is considered, it would appear to me that an attack on this front is a direct discouragement to the use of efficient travel/transport!!?
Not sure who would be the person to contact but if anyone has any political know how, it might be a good move to get the greens involved.
Just me two cents worth anyway.
Ben

Re: NSW CTP Rally
Here is the latest information regarding where and what. there are to be no meeting points other than converging on Parliament house -
http://rabnsw.lefora.com/2010/08/03/not ... august-20/
Similar details are up on the MCCofNSW, but again the statistics they are using are well useless. Anyhow no point beating a dead horse.
See you on the day

Re: NSW CTP Rally
Two things, 1) anyone interested in attending at 4-5am for the "carpark" effort?
For those that aren't, i suppose if we do independant ride-in's, where and when are the two magic questions. Perhaps a North West & South rallypoint?
i.e. PITS for north, Bald Hill for the south & somewhere for the west/northwest guys (i really am not sure about this) with a ride preceeding the ride over to the rally. I would suggest getting to parliament before 11:50, maybe clsoer to 11:30 so there's no rush "in case".
Ideas, volunteers?

Re: NSW CTP Rally
so pretty much anyone with 500cc and less and 1150+cc is getting screwed.
the CC brackets dont make logical sense and obviously aimed to make more money.
People really should be encouraged to use motorcycles by having cheaper costs, this is just fu*ked.

We are being treated like a powerless minority; just here to be shafted.
When are these goomers going to learn, as the roads get more congested and petrol gets more expensive more and more people will use motorcycles. The minority is growing already, and that in the not so distant future they (those that are shafting us) will get get their arses kicked into orbit.

I'm Ok for either option.
Option 1 I can be there @ 4 - 5:00am
Option 2 Can be at the PITS for a slow ride in

Some of us in the Ulysses club are leaving the PITS at 10.00am for a leisurely ride into the city, don't forget to leave you etag behind. Make the buggers work for their tolls. Anyone wanting to join us are most welcome

I've booked in to leave work at Windsor at 10am, so I'll go straight into the city......... unless I get away earlier, then I'll go via the PITS......greg wrote:anyone else keen to eave PITS at 10.00am?
