Help needed

Post by Mad RS »

Hey Guys and Gals,
I have been trying to get some touch up paint for my 08 Z750 in Orange Metallic Pearl. I know I wont get an exact match but I need something as close as possible. I have called every paint and smash repair shop in Mackay but no one can seem to help. I can't even get the local Kawasaki shop to help as they say Kawasaki don't release touch up paint.

Can someone put me onto a shop in Sydney or maybe even talk to them for me?? The last 4 digits of my Vin. is 0264.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Chris

I do have a orange paint to use as touch up but it really stands out as a different colour. I am trying to sell the bike atm and I would rather do it properly.

Thanks for the idea.

Mate, most good panel beaters should get a close a close match with a sample ( a cowl or front wheel guard), we do it often to match window frame colours, and yes they too come in pearl, flecks and all types of shit. Just a thought.

Good luck,,

Sorry Guys but I need to put this into perspective. I live 300Km round trip from anything resembling a panel shop and 600km round trip from a decent one. No one in Mackay that I have asked has the books or programs to look up the mixture for my paint so I was hoping that someone in Sydney or Brisbane would know a shop that could mix the paint.

Thanks for your help.

Might not work but try www.colorrite.com they have loads of paint codes and you have bugger all to lose I suggest.

Mackay, doesn't have crashed cars??

Have a run around a few smash repairers, I'm sure up that way most will mix their own paint. Any painter worth his salt will get you 250ml almost cock on while you wait. I'm sure a case of decent beer will suffice payment.

I never use paint codes to order any paint unless whats being painted is straight off the showroom floor.

Always get mine tweaked by eye ;)

I think the Zed is now up to 3 separate paint mixes and no one can spot it.

Good luck
