Grab it with both hands.

Seiko its not all bad, as much as you think that the world is against the motorcycle fraternity.
It is a step in the right direction for training new riders - and arguably there should be an equivalent for new car drivers - but for now see it as a positive and don't flame them for trying to understand the statistics.
I got a sweater for my birthday. I realy wanted a moaner or a screamer.

I think it's a great idea but all the cage drivers need something similar as well, especially the imported models ;)

You mean to say the levy *may* actually be going to a worthwhile cause???

and i for one would take all the free rider courses offered... any chance to remind me of the safest way to ride is a good thing!

Good to see Vic Roads are trying to introduce positive measures to lower the Percentage of motorcyclist fatalities. Compared to NSW who are just trying to tax us off the roads.

It's not a world first, and I have been saying for ages the motorcycle test should be more like the UK model with a 45 min road ride test.

**edit** but it is a step in the right direction and will hopefully encourage some riders to master their skills a little better. Unfortunately it will appeal to the more sensible riders, not the ones who probably need it most

Now thats a full on clip of bike control. Are there any groups/locations where this sort of stuff is happening?

That type of weekend activity combined with coaching would help all riders I would think. We have to take some responsibility for our own ability or lack there of whether in a car or bike. Its interesting the time people invest in gyms on football fields etc etc to improve there ability but they would rarely consider advanced driving/riding for something they do every day.
