Locating person: RED ZX10R 07 crashed VIC Will reward finder
Hello guys, I am in need of help in locating the ex owner of a RED Kawasaki ZX10R 07 model. When it was crashed it had 14009km on the odometer and the owner was with GIO insurance. I can provide engine numbers VIN and old registration number if this will help in he search, just PM me.
Here is an Image of the bike:
It had nearly new Michelin Pilot Powers too.
I am in need of the keys, especially the red key... I will reward the finder of the persons details some money, but only if I get the key, that money will have to go towards a new ECU and all.
So if you know the person or are the person, your help is greatly appreciated and I will reward when I get what I need.
Thanks
Edit: I have contacted GIO and I am awaiting response.

You have 1 black key on the bike!
Its possible to have it replicated and save yourself the hassle of a new ECU but you have to have 1 good one

Yep I bought it as a wreck, and fixing it so far has been pretty cheap so I pretty happy about that and I'm sort of learning a bit too.
I do have the black key but if something such as the immobilizer would go off then I would need the red key to reset it
I have got a quote from a key hacker/ecu re-programmer and it would cost $1000, but still cheaper than Kawasaki...

Can't help with the owner but I know a guy who can get the original code from you ECU etc, Not sure what he will charge, but as you are not an insurance company he'll probably look after you. PM me if you get stuck.

Have you tried contacting GIO and asking them to contact the owner on your behalf? They can (if they decide to not be lazy pricks) contact them and give them your details or at least find out if they are interested in giving you the keys/contact info to get some progress on trying to get the key.

Gah, missed that bit.
Re: Locating person: RED ZX10R 07 crashed VIC Will reward fi
Yer GIO are being lazy
at first they told me about some privacy crap, then I asked them to contact the ex-owner to give them my details and they told me to contact the person who I bought it off, and the person I bought it off told me to contact GIO...
Hopefully I can make some progress with a ring instead of emailing.

History repeating itself............. Sell it now for a profit and get a 14
I went through exactly what you are doing 2 years ago. The same bike and the same colour
I tried Insureres, VIC Roads, the RTA, etc. Vic roads had the info but refused to give it to me or give my details to the other guy (bullshit privacy rules they said) I even took the dealer to the Department of Fair Trading. In the end the Dealer got a second hand ECU etc etc for $1000 from Perth and we went halves..........
Good luck

The only time you need a Red Key is when you sell the bike........... cause most buyers know what they are up for and will negotiate the price acordingly..........
